Agreed, if Buu were to hit Mr. Satan for real (even as exhausted as he was) he could knock him out or kill him. He pulled that punch for sure.
Yeah, Mr Satan would have grabbed Fat Kirby to try to stop him from attacking Keto Kirby and Fat Kirby had no time for that.
Since the Spirit Bomb only hurts those with evil in their hearts, it would be interesting to know if Fat Kirby could full nelson Keto Kirby and survive the blast.
In my opinion, Fat Kirby slapped Satan in order to make him realize it is not a dream, since Satan would not dream of his friend hitting him.
He is a Park Ranger indeed, with his own island to protect. Just like he said he would be.

Fun fact: Tien was the only one who never forgave Vegeta. That's why he didn't raise his hands when Vegeta asked for it and why he didn't want to use the saiyan suit in the Cell saga. And the other people who recognized Goku's voice where people he helped when he was a kid in the original Dragon Ball, which implies he keep seeing them even after so many years.
A hug from Mr. Satan would have deterred his plan to get Vegeta out. Buu needed to act and he needed Mr. Satan to focus up. The slap was necessary. Cold, but necessary.

The slap Buu dished to Mr. Satan wasn't out of him being in "kill mode". It was more like "we don't have time for shit right now, Satan".
Apparently the showrunners forgot that King Furry already knew that Mr.Satan wasn't the one who had defeated Cell because he had also met Goku as a kid.
"Citizens of planet earth... raise your hands in the air!" that line would such a good opener for a techno track lol
Yep, all these people Goku asked, were indeed old friends he saved in classic Dragonball as a kid.

It's a mistake from the anime. In the manga, he's already doing it after Goku asked for it.

The people who gave their energy at the start and recognized Goku's voice were characters from og dragon ball. It's a fun watch, even if it's not as action filled as DBZ.
Yeah we plan to check it out eventually but we are going on to Super after this 😊

DB GT tried to recapture the fun and innocence from the original DB, but was not that successful.
DB Super was better.
And I say that as someone who spent money to buy VHS tapes of GT way back in 1999 from a guy in Japan that had recorded it off of his tv when it was airing.
GT had a good idea with the premise of the Dragonballs being corrupted by overuse, but making Goku a kid again was just silly.

Seeing all the OG DB cameos in this one really was great (Lunch especially 😃)
I forgot if it was ever confirmed, but Kid Buu being able to stop the Spirit Bomb with his hands might be due to the fact that those with pure hearts are able to repel Spirit Bomb energy (TFS did a small nod to this way back in Season 1), and Kid Buu is technically a pure being and all 🤔
'Course, doesn't mean a Spirit Bomb can't still kill you, otherwise they wouldn't be trying this :^p

I think goku and vegeta and probably everyone else looks down on mr satan so much they don't consider him and mr satan is so scared that he'll do anything to stay out of it..

Yes, minus Android 17 (which was nice to see what he was up to - even if only for a few seconds), the other characters are from the original Dragon Ball (when Goku was a kid).

I was thinking that to. Some weebs were a little bit to harsh on you back then, because this is your very first true anime experience besides DBZA. And we didn't had that knowlegde either as kids or teens. People like to forget that.
But, i have to say: Anime (not just dragonball) is a world without logic (sometimes) so you cannot get through it with logic. It only will makes you feel "Uh..that's stupid, that doesn't make sense" you will end up like me. 😆

I'm going to assume you guys don't know why the people were afraid of "demon" Piccolo, but, in case you don't know, Piccolo (as well as his father) were known as the Demon King Piccolo who threw the world into chaos after being released by Pilaf. If the populace in general remembers Piccolo it'd be due to that legacy which is why they run from him (though for the Tournament Announcer he's just like any other wacky character he comes across at this point).
This moment is so iconic that it basically spawned an emoji. \o/
And this is really when Mr. Satan came in the clutch!
If you guys keep watching through Super you'll see that not only is 17 a Park Ranger he's the most Badass park ranger to ever park range.
What's a bit different to the kai version then to the manga is, that in the manga Mr. Satan looked more like he was uncomfortable with this. He apologized to goku for saying he is the one fighting, but he sees no other way to make the people respond quickly enough. Even if he says that he is helping, or that someone else need the help and he is just there doing nothing, some people would help, but others would think "hmm? Mr. satan is asking help for someone else? There is someone who can do this but not Mr. Satan? Thats sounds fishy". Unlike the anime, he was actually even pretty beat up in the manga, bleeding and all. So i think with everything that is happening to him, its kind of understandable that he was not thinking so far ahead quickly to tell the people himself and first needed to hear the foolishness of the humans, before his head made click. ^^
The slap was "get your shit together, this is real, we need to help". All those people recognizing Goku were people he encountered in Dragonball, as a kid.

That recognition of mr satan showed that he actually earned the title for once.
Goku could recognize the energy of his close friends. I don't know if he necessarily recognizes the energy of a guy he shortly met 20 years ago.
Also neither Vegeta or Goku really know Mr Satan. They saw him for like a moment during the cell games and then during the World Tournament but like barely.
Mr Satan wasn't in a clear mind I would say. Also he usually acts pretty surprised when people start buying his bullshit but then just rolls with it. I don't think he generally understands at this point how far his cult following actually goes.
I'd recommend going back to the original Dragon Ball instead of Super, then Dragon Ball Z.
The original Dragon Ball would give you a lot of backstory and context for all the characters and has plenty of great moments.

But yeah, everyone you're seeing here are Dragon Ball characters; Dragonball Z Goku doesn't really meet or help folks on Earth in Z (he's either training, dead or both, all throughout Saiyan, Frieza and Call Sagas).
Also just fighting or unconscious/ill, along with training and dead.

You got it good, Majin Buu can be translated as Demon Buu. We in poland got Bubu, Songo (Goku) and Satan Littleheart (Piccollo). It was bad polish translation from bad french translation.

9:00 I'm already 20 years old, I've seen this scene many times already (In DBZ), and I keep raising my hands :')
After finishing Kai, you have enough requisite knowledge to watch the latest movie, Dragon Ball Super Hero. There are a few characters you won't know until watching DB Super, but honestly they don't do anything relevant. If you felt like skipping to that, totally doable.
Separately, but related, the first two arcs of Dragon Ball Super are just poorly animated versions of the movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. However details of the show and movie don't line up exactly, so it's hard to say skip those arcs in favor of the movies, but just know the movies did it better.

In OG Buu says 'move' cuz yes he is in kill mode but still understands the situation and Proceeds to act, you would see it if you WATCH OG DBZ, NOT KAI

Damn, i wish you watched ORIGINAL DBZ and not this redub with new soundtrack, the original Japanese genkidama theme (or spirit ball or whatever the hell USA calls it) is SO MUCH BETTER.
Spirit bomb in the US
Once again, anime Buu saga, even with a condensed format, is horribly paced. Still, the Kid Buu fight is a really hype one, and, unlike the Freeza and Cell fights (which boiled down to "angry saiyan transforms and stomps", even if they were great ones), this one is a collaborative effort where every one of the involved parties carries their weight. Hell, the new saiyan form that matches in power the antagonist outright FAILING was refreshing!
Also, suggesting you guys to watch Battle of Gods and Resurrection F instead of the first ~26 episodes of Super; those episodes adapt those movies, but with lower animation quality and pacing issues.
