Best Redfish Day in the Refuge of 2023

- Even with a front coming thru I decided to run the tunnel boat to the Chassahowitzka NWR here on the Florida Gulf Coast and flip some plastic.....I had no idea how good of a day of fishing for Redfish this trip would turn out to be.....My Best Day of 2023!!

Thanks!! It's amazing after all these years there just aren't people who are willing to put in the time to learn how to fish this area.....I started over 30 years ago and I've got a lot of years left to enjoy the ride to the Refuge.....Have a great New Year!!

I can't remember the last time the weather kept me off the salt for so long but I've been having a lot of fun with these trail cams and getting an education in critters and this swamp in general......The brick comment .....If you're not willing to take some risk you may miss out on something that's totally unXected and for 2023 this was the trip that set the bar for future trips in the Refuge......Have a great New Year!!
Wes, a great day out on the water for you. I had a 14’ Jon boat years ago that I built front and back decks for it, looked sorta like yours. Someone stole the motor, so,I sold the boat. Have a great day!

In the winter these fronts rarely have any lightning so a frog strangler doesn't get my attention.....But during the summer it can get reel hairy reel fast.....And I've been in some reel bad storms with minimal places to hide!! Probably the drop in the Barometer is what trigger the bite and I just happened to find the small schools......Have a great New Year!!

I fished some Crystal River Tourneys years ago but most of my tournaments have been offshore from Canaveral to Marathon....I did a grouper tourney up here a year ago and placed 2nd.....Just not really interested in them anymore!! If I remember that tourney has had some questionable results with certain individuals involved from both Citrus and Hernando County's!!😎
