  • Went fishing in one of my favorite wintertime creeks in Yankeetown! Caught a boat load of Redfish all on artificials. We used paddle tails all day long and they were hungry! The warm up days after a cold front with a lot of sun can produce some of the best fishing! The fish get up shallow and are looking to feed while it's warm. Hope you guys enjoyed the 2 different camera angles! Let me know what you think down in the comments! Please like and subscribe and thanks for watching!

That must have been a fun day. Lots of action. Camera angles were good. What kind of shoes are those? They look comfortable.

Glad you liked the other camera angles! And the shoes I had on were hey dudes. I have multiple pairs and I love them! Great for the boat or everyday wear.

Those Texas-eyed Jigheads are some of my favorites! Question for ya, how were you fishing the tides? Did you stay in creeks that had water at low tide or did you only fish them on the outgoing and incoming tides? I fished yankeetown once and it was so damn windy i couldn't go out at all in my skiff and where we were at almost had nothing but extreme shallow water and oyster bars. Typically that's not a problem and I can push pole around, but the wind makes it impossible.

In this video the tide was low in the morning and incoming until early afternoon. So we launched the boat with just enough water to get back into the creeks and left before the outgoing pushed too much water out. Whenever I fish the creeks I prefer a tide that is dead low around 10 am so I have time to get back in there when there is still some water and then the water will be high enough when I decide to head back. Once you get back in the creeks you can typically navigate them without a problem cause there are enough deeper cuts there, but getting in the creeks can be a challenge on a low tide.

do ya rig the paddle tale with a weighted hook or any weight?

In this video I was rigging the paddle tail on a 1/4 oz jig head. I pretty much always rig mine on weighted jig heads. The size weight varies with the depth of water I’m fishing.

That’s a big creek for Yankeetown, looks like the river?

It’s one of the bigger creeks over in Yankeetown. A lot of the creeks there have very wide and deep spots that hold the fish. It was not the river though.
