Also, might be a time saver to skip sprout tower until you get swift from union cave.

Already play through I probably should have done that to be honest but all I did was just use metronome and go back and forth. I had to get to a higher level to get by Faulkner anyway so it felt like the best strategy

I did however as soon as a big Faulkner Ron got the pink bow then ran and got swift and avoided as many battles as possible and then went back and fought a bunch of trainers I'd skipped so that I had a more reliable move.

Can this thing get TBolt or Flamethrower by tutor? Feel like they're better answers over zap cannon or fire blast.

It cannot get thunderbolt. What fire blast does is if I can afford it I can get fire blast to help me beat Jasmine and pryce. With a high special and the charcoal this is the best option I feel for that point in the game.

The other problem is the tutor moves you can't get till after you beat the elite four so if I put off getting a fire move until after the elite four I literally am going to be stuck with some very limiting and horrible moves to get through the elite 4 fireblast at least gives me a very powerful special one hit knockout ability

@@DwunD016 and yeah thunderbolt would have been much better than Zack Cannon. It's less powerful but the accuracy alone is worth it. Pretty much makes Charizard and Blastoise obsolete against red
