I am your regular viewer. Considering your experience please advise me to choose between Honda CB350 and Triumph Speed 400. Honda anyday is an excellent bike but after seeing the specs of Speed 400, I'm getting confused specially after watching the experience of Kiran Sachin with Triumph. Please help me to take a wise decision. I am planning to buy on October 2023 during Durga Puja. Biswajit Das, Kolkata.
Honda is a more practical bike imo. You'll get all the best things out of the RE expect the long gearing which you'll get used to. Triumph is a great bike but 30-40K more, has low mileage, high maintenance and unreliable service.
I am planning to upgrade my Thunderbird 350 ..so I am really confused what should I pick except royal Enfield and really confused between triumph 400x and hearleydavidson x 440.. Purpose mainly touring and little bit City commute... So I prefer triumph .i just need your honest opinion to help me out bulu Bhai..
Bulu bhai here is my analysis regarding this topic. What made RE famous? For me it's the looks, emotional attachment & the LS Engine that delivers so much torque at lower RPM which makes city rides and hill climbing easy without frequent gear change & delivers the heartbit thumps. All other competitors don't have this type of LS engine on board except H'ness 350. But the bigwing thing with H'ness killed it. Now Triumph is coming with a high revving, short stroke engine with high compression ratio. It's not like RE type by any means. These kind of engines require liquid cooling due to high compression ratio so cost will be definitely higher. I think RE is having no threat from Triumph. But the actual threat to RE is Harley 440 @2.29 lakh with exactly similar engine characteristics, looks, Harley tag, Hero network. Let's see what happens. Game is on now.
Absolutely agree with you. Review is saying the torque is available at very low rpm. Hero is saying that 90 percent of torque is available from as low as 2000 rpm. This is huge. India doesn't have any engine like RE which provides low end torque at this price, where HD is gonna hit hard.
Triumph makes 80% of it's torque at 3000rpm. This absolutely destroys any RE at this segment spare the twins. Plus the high revs is resulting in an awesome exhaust note when driving. Plus traction control ride by wire liquid cooling which we can't get in an RE
@@iamrobot396 if you don't know then I must tell you that in REs you get 90% of torque under 2500 RPM. And this is about nature of a LS engine. Due to that LS engine you get the thumps in slow pace. You can manage the torque output by many things like gear ratios, ecu mapping but a over square high compression ratio engine is way different than a LS engine.
@@chandradattakar9311 not everyone wants an ls engine. Not everyone wants to lug a 200+ kg bike around town either. More and more people are moving from heavy re bikes to more nimble bikes. This is a pure fact. Why buy a tractor for that torque when you get a more agile bike with even better torque output for the same price?

Bulu bhai bilkul sahi analysis kiya hai.. I want to add 1 point here regarding Liquid cool engine. Royal Enfield k motorcycle Air cooled aate hai and Triumph k Liquid cool engine, performance wise Triumph is better but maintenance mai Triumph mar khayega. Engine is the only thing going for the twins. The suspension is pathetic and the ergonomics is the worst of its kind. It took them 4 years to give tubeless tyres and les lighta. And it weighs a ton and cooks your feet in traffic. Emotion my goot
in a Classic 350 you can comfortably commute to office, go to the market for groceries and dangle the shopping bag somewhere in the bike, your mother can sit comfortably at the back, you can even carry a gas cylinder back in a emergency and then in the weekends you can just ride for 300kms with such ease and comfort... that's why the Classic 350 sells, its a all in one in a one garage bike, there's no beating RE
Kindly explain why can't we do all that on a Triumph 400 or even a Honda Highness? I think it is just a matter of time that people will learn to understand and accept better machines 😁
