    Thats exactly what im saying. The hd and re are more of a competitor to each other. The triumph isnt even a consideration, its a completly different category. Most people thinking that its competing with the RE and Hero Harley because they all have round headlights but its actually a competitor to the street sports motorcycles by how it performs.

    U said same thing what shumi(motorinc) has said in his podcast. Speed 400 is a good bike but lacks character. It sit between two extremes, doesn't has low end of classic 350 neither explosive top end of duke 390 . And vibrations are also there.

  • @srinathtg4623
    @srinathtg4623 Před 10 měsíci +10

    My opinion is that the greatest fatigue factor of long rides is vibrations from the bike. A lot of bikes are capable of great acceleration and great top end, but the vibes start around 80 to 100 for sure. Cruising at 120 and above is not easy even now on Indian roads. Can do short bursts but not continuously. Needs a lot of concentration and alertness, again classic causes of fatigue. 90 to 110 cruise with 120 now and then is great speed for long rides. Fuel economy and range may not be a factor for all but we all silently appreciate a good mileage per litre, especially long rides. So if you want decent city torque and nimbleness, a large tank capacity, one of the smoothest engines, cruising speeds of 90 to 110 with capacity to go beyond now and then, a 40kmpl average and range of 500+km per tank, there's no competetion for Honda cb350.

    I'm one of CB350 owners who asked for a comparison after your July 7 video. Apart from the lack of vibrations, one more benefit of the CB350 is the mileage. I keep it between 80-90kph during touring, get 40+kmpl consistently, get 550km range easily from the 15L tank.
    I agree to your deliberation on the point - why upgrade at all? Well, for me the choice is the Scrambler 400 ... mostly for it's off-road capability (which we're yet to see) and power for highways. My riding partner has a 390 adv and the benefits of longer suspensions and power is evident when I ride the CB with him. Recently the fuel pump on my Honda also failed (seems like a known issue) at 20K km - which I didn't expect from a Honda, but was replaced free of cost - but now my faith in Honda (-India) is a bit shaken.

      @@campeador94 in theory, yes.
      However, my Honda CB350 is air-cooled, low-compression and thus makes a lot less power than it should. The bike is incredibly calm, smooth and fuel-efficient (90mpg), but there are times I wish for more power.

      I recommend New RE classic 350 or Hunter 350 or meteor 350. Yes these bikes may not be comfortable after 90kmph on highways, but low end torque and mid range performance on ghat roads are superb.
      If you buy honda cb350 you need to downshift frequently. Rest its a beautiful machine.

    The speed 400's low end torque is not as bad as you describe, infact, you will get around 30nm of torque right from 3000rpm, all the way to 8000rpm, which is the peak torque of the Honda H'ness.

    • @NoiseFilteredSoundWorks
      @NoiseFilteredSoundWorks Před 11 měsíci

      Hmmm but long stroke cb350 starts building usable torque from way below. So the ride feel and engine sound is super smooth and umm elegant. Speed 400 is wayy faster and capable but needs to be kept on the boil.

      @@NoiseFilteredSoundWorks maybe from idlee to 2000 rpm from 2000-2500 rpm they start to generate similar torque level up to 3000 rpm around above this its game over for honda 👌🏻 especially if you consider that speed 400 is 10-15 kg lighter 👌🏻 in terms of max performance thers mismatch speed hit 100 2 times faster 👌🏻 cb is good for city and short straights at longer trip it have to limited performance for comfortable defeat biger straights on highway u lesss ypu like ride 100 🐌km/h 2 hours than whatever for me it is to slow ,but engine characteristic is very good 👌🏻

    • @NoiseFilteredSoundWorks
      @NoiseFilteredSoundWorks Před 10 měsíci +2

      @@mociczyczki absolutely agreed. Cb is phenomenal in city / on state highways and is able to keep up with duke 390. ( depends upon the rider as well). But in terms of outright performance 400 will blast through cb or any long stroke motor with lower power figures. Also with smaller front wheel 400 should be way more flickable. But like you said, the initial torque build up of cb is thicker. So getting off the signal or from a stand still is achieved with a lot of grace. The increased weight and overall dynamics keeps it stable in cross winds on 100kmph touring speeds. The cb loses steam though after 125 and there is no point pushing the bike further. I might have to pick up an inline 3 or inline 4 in a few years for crazy top end blast. :D

And now you say that it doesn't have enough torque. in your top speed test you said it goes 165-170 and now you say it doesn't have a top end. the bike wasn't even serviced or anything and still went 170 which is in the duke's range. Ok, for people who are still confused, if you are a beginner go for any bike mentioned in video they all are great. If you have any experience with RE or your family member have one and you used to ride it just go for RE, any RE. If you have dominar, forget about 350 or 400 just go for a bigger cc bike. If you are a person who wants just a 350 to 400 cc bike and don't want to put much time in the bike maintenance and other stuff just go for Honda. If you want a brand you can have HD. If you want a high performance bike go for KTM. At the end (as a proud owner of speed 400) I'll say speed is like great power (bike) comes with great responsibility, it's a great bike in its way. Imp note :- if you already have a 300-400 cc bike don't go for another same cc bike get a bigger one.

    Thank you Bro. Really needed this video♥️♥️
    Bought hunter a month back without checking the competition and suddenly whole social media was filled with Speed 400 posts making me feel I made a huge blunder.
    Every CZcamsr was giving the crown to Triumph making me more depressed.
    I was thinking to test drive the speed400, but was afraid if I like it too much, I might need to sell my brand new hunter at a huge loss.
    Your video gave me confidence to test it and exactly as you said the speed 400 felt slow in traffic, there was no thump no feel of power in the city.
    Crusing speed of 100+ is the only downside I feel as hunter is comfortable at 80 only but I guess 100+ is too fast for a beginner rider like me who don’t own a proper riding gear. But till 80 hunter feel better to me.

    What you said is true, I myself own a speed 400 and that bike is not that good at top end specially after you hit 155km/h, but I never felt lack of mid-range and low-end torque. It pulls me in traffic on 4th gear with no issue at 20-25km/h. I agree it doesn't have the X factor that every other bike on the list offers but after riding my speed 400 for 4500km it seems I don't mind or regret my purchase decision. Keep up the good work 🏍

    Absolutely spot on. I have a Domi 400 UG and took the test ride of the Speed 400, and the first thing that hit my mind is, its not at all an upgrade for a current Domi 400 owner. The feel of performance and power is inferior to Domi since the Domi has more grunt and low end torque and better top end than the Triumph. The only positive side that you will appreciate is the less weight of the Triumph. Otherwise Domi 400 solves more purpose than Speed in every aspect, be it performance or long distance touring. I loved the built quality of the Triumph though 😍.

    • @tds2839
      @tds2839 Před 11 měsíci

      your Domi is an outright fat overweight trash. And no way it has more low end torque. Just because something is heavy and marketed as touring machine doesn't mean it has more torque. Speed 400 beats duke 390 in gear acceleration. Has way better low end although power delivery is linear. It's definitely not a tourer but for that you have scrambler coming. "Domi" has 0 identity .

      Do not go in the nitty gritty details. You’ll be confused forever.
      Classic and Cb350 are good bikes. But when you want that extra speed on the highway. They will bore you to death. I have owned classic and Himalayan. I still love both. But I missed the highway performance.
      Speed or 400x will excel there.
      Vibes will be there on any single cylinder bike.
