  • on 12 November 2022, I attended the Wings over Dallas airshow. It was a fantastic time, until the collision of two vintage aircraft. Thoughts and prayers to the families of those aviators who lost their lives.

My heart goes out to all the family members who lost their loved ones in the Dallas air show being a veteran in the Navy I served aboard an aircraft carrier that was an ABF and I became an AD3... I know all the gentlemen women and men abort the aircraft were outstanding individuals each one of them God bless the families amen!

..Very, very saddened and despondent over this catastrophe. As one of two sons from an aviation family (Dad flew corporately and instructed as well), and a fan of WW2-era aircraft, I feel their pain! This was so avoidable as it appears to me!! May their souls fly on forever in the next "plane"..Prayers to the berieved family members!!

I have loved anything to do with flight since I was a child. I hope these men felt no pain and are now flying again somewhere out there.

Sad… these guys loved aviation history so much they paid to be volunteers to fly these pieces of history around for everyone to see. We have B17s and P63s in museums… but they don’t run and people don’t go out of there way to see a parked airplane in some building.

At the show that day, I saw quite a few of the CAF aviators engaging with and educating the public. Their dedication is amazing and it is a sad loss.

These pilots have to pay to "volunteer"? Didn't know that.. Seems like a rich man's game.

I have 20000 hours in heavy metal. The B63 had to have lost its flight line momentarily to form up with the B17. This can have disastrous consequences.... Rest in peace to the People who died and condolences to their families. They all would have wanted to show continue on.
