What a genius owner and cat❤️ CZcams Recommended this and I'm never disappointed!
We once had a two-storey house where our cat lived only upstairs but of course was used to being outside. So I had a few planter shelves added to the side of our house that "stepped" down to the side fence, and a hole in the balcony screen with a landing. Within about 2 mins of it being finished, and showing him the exit, he loved it... instantly knew it was his own cat-only sized stairway to the back yard.
That’s adorable and very clever!!!!
Cats love having property of their own.❤
This is a great idea. Version 2 should add more ‘features’ to make it fully automatic. The infrared Cat Flap could be linked to the motor, so that once the Cat is inside the flap locks and the motor begins it’s journey. The Flap is then released once the Lift has reached it’s destination! That way the Cat has complete control, and the owner doesn’t need to be there to remotely operate it. I feel it needs quite a few ventilation holes in case there is a problem releasing the flap, on a hot day, but this is definitely a great idea!
Could easily hook it up to a remote app similar to Nest or Google Home etc, so that the owner can be alerted on their phone, view the camera to make sure the cat is safe, and switch it on. I feel like too much can go wrong if you automate something like this - at least at this level.
I mean, this is just the first floor. This could easily have been an open box

Nice. So now Kitty can roam around spraying neighbors’ flower beds!

I like how it beeps when it's done so the cat knows when it's safe to walk out the door.
He looks quite capable of running down a flight of stairs. I do hope he never slips and falls from the balcony getting into the elevator.
I don't think anything would happen to the cat if it fell from that height
@@ggurks People really need to stop wrongfully assuming that cats somehow don't get hurt when falling from heights. If it was any other animal you would be worried about injuries. Well guess what, cats get injured too. Sad thing is that as long as they can still move, they will not show that they are in pain. It is a survival instinct. A lot of owners don't bother to take their cat to get checked out after a fall because they assume they're "fine" or because they "landed on their feet." But they might actually be injured. It's not always obvious. Just think about the impact on their joints landing on the hard ground from that fall, even if they land on their paws.... you don't think that would do ANY damage? Right....
It would be more responsible of the pet owner to put up a net/enclosure around the balcony, with an opening leading to the very cool and awesome cat elevator... It did look kinda precarious when the cat was stepping in to it.
@ Stephenie Folgelvik Well, that was a lot of words to get your Pont across.
However, the height of this balcony is standard and therefore not going to be a problem IF and when the cat falls. (Which it probably did & this precipitated the elevator being built).
A cat can *safely* jump *down* from this height. It just can't jump back up.
As far as cats getting hurt from falls, this happens when they are in precarious positions, or get scared & don't have time to plan the landing so that their bodies are in alignment.
For the "survival instinct" bit and movement, IF a cat is obviously moving abnormally, a loving & *observant* cat owner *will immediately notice something is wrong*.
Please, give cat owners intelligence.
@@lorriefinley3129 That was a lot of words? You wrote almost exactly just as much as me, haha.
And I am sorry, but I cannot "give" pet owners intelligence. Thry either have it, or they don't. 😂
And clearly you don't understand that cats are a type of animal that is capable of hiding some types of injury and pain without showing any (obvious) signs or moving abnormally. That's what I was saying.
After eleven years, I saw this, amazing.
His next invention. A self raising food dish so the cat does not have to strain its neck to eat.
This is nuts that the cat actually uses the elevator
0:58 I like how the cat pauses like he's thinking "Wait, wtf? How did I get down here?"
