Pour info le chat va très bien, il continue avec application son rôle de mascotte du club
Au club ULM 16-34 de Kourou, Guyane Française
A standard flight until... i still don't know if it got in after the pre flight check or if i missed it.
The cat is doing well, she is still our mascot.

Ok some details :
- the cat was INSIDE the wing, not on it. she was actually pretty safe in there, the danger was if she wanted to get down to reach us..
- i was the pilote, the woman was on her first flight as a passenger. she smile and giggle a lot, well because that's what flying does to people sometime.
-i told her not to reach for the cat. i told her not to move at all actually. i trusted the cat to not move if we didn't try to reach for her.
-you can see me smile shortly before landing. I was pretty assured by then that the cat wouldn't move and there was a relieve of tension; and the radio exchange with the control tower was kinda hilarious, i couldn't contain a smile.
-cat is a female.
-the flight was normally 20minutes long

You can tell the pilot was a pro.
The moment he saw the cat, he slowed the plane down and made sure to make turns on the side where the cat was. This was to make sure that in the unfortunate event that the cat loses her grip and slips, she slides into the wing and not fall out of it.
But he received I bunch of criticism afterward. Normally, before flight, there is a pre-check. If he had done correctly he would have noticed the cat.
There is a reason for these protocols.

I love how cat was panicking a little, but when he saw calm humans he relaxed. It's like he knew that since there are humans who are chill in this situation that means everything is going to be fine.
That actually is a trait many cats have where they look to other cats to see how to react! That’s why sometimes when you see a really angry cat, it can suddenly calm down when another cat comes in and is very unphased

Kudos to the pilot for throttling back and keeping the left wing dipped. He did exactly the right thing for keeping the cat safe (as much as possible) while also flying the plane and getting back down quickly. Great airmanship AND kitty rescue. And presumably his pre-flight inspection now includes checking inside the wings for stowaways!
