Screen Junkies I didn't even realize that Wes Anderson repeated a lot of the same story beats in his own movies. This was so funny. Especially the very specific descriptions of moments from his movies. 😂

It’s incredible that despite him repeating himself, all of his movies still feel so unique
Because he does tell really unique stories, he just has a particular style when he does it. The common elements like love triangles, disaffected siblings, and plans going wrong are tropes you can find in almost every movie, not just Wes Anderson's.
If the plan doesn't go wrong then the story's often not worth telling.
Its quarky which I just love. And its so put together.

Well think of it like music. Take Simon and Garfunkel for example, across every song and album they: have folky guitars, vocal harmonies, bouncy rhythms, lyrics about love, loss or a mixture of the two, sombre tones. Their style is consistent, but you wouldn't necessarily say that any one song or album sounds exactly like the other.

One thing you've gotta love about Wes Anderson: When most directors make a movie they say to the press "I only got 150 million dollars to spend on it so of course I couldn't make a good movie!" but when they randomly gave Wes Anderson 80 million to spend on The Grand Budapest Hotel he used it to enrich and layer and beautify the world the characters inhabit in an already layered, rich, beautifully well-crafted story.

It's because Wes Anderson creates these whimsical worlds and the low budget just works in them. He saves a lot of money with shots of doll houses or whacky animations. That type of the filmmaking works in his movies, but it would never work in a more serious movie. Imagine how distracting it would be if you saw an obvious model of the house in a more grounded and serious movie? It would ruin the whole experience.
The next wes anderson film:
Bill murray smoking in front of a foreigner in front of an oil painting playing a rock song near his sibling punching a wilson brother in the face with an exotic animal while a stop motion willem dafoe calls help from a old timey phone to a police officer in a uniform that was born in the wrong decade.

It stars shots of writing, Bill Murray, overhead shots of objects, character explaining elaborate plans, uniforms, characters with dead parents, Ed Norton, estranged siblings, dead animals, stage plays, Angelica Huston, old-timey telephones, moving vehicles, facial wounds and Ed Norton explaining an elaborate plan with Bill Murray involving a possibly dead animal on a moving vehicle.

What I love about these movies is that they're so inviting and easy to watch. You can feel how excited the director is to tell you a story.

The French Dispatch: the tale of a disaffected artist and art dealer, the prison guard one of them loves, and a meticulously planned art show that goes wrong, then the tale of a disaffected student, the girl he loves, and a meticulously planned protest that goes wrong, and finally the tale of a disaffected chef, the food he loves, and a meticulously planned kidnapping that goes wrong.
Oh it's also a tale of a magazine editor , the magazine that he loves , and a meticulously planned publishing that goes wrong .
This video is surprisingly filled with love and warm feelings towards this director, even though the style is the same as in all those other honest trailers where there are only sarcasm and cynicism. Amazing.
It just made me love his films even more, great video.

That running joke at the end was like every Wes Anderson movie,the same plot structure each time,but still charming.
That was easily in the top 3 best Honest Trailers of all time. I want to watch it while reading a book while wearing a uniform in front of an oil painting.

Having been forced on the occasion of quarantine to make videos for virtually all my coursework, I must give you a hat tip for the editing, time and genius that went into this short film about Wes Anderson Films. I know it took many man hours, and I wanted you to know I appreciate your work and the time required to make this masterpiece. You at Screen Junkies are also your own genre.

Ok, the part where they do starring, best, thing, I, HAVE, EVER, SEEN...on this channel. Seriously that was just, perfect.
It was very well researched and they took their time with the compilations. To top it off they were made up of setting up recurring trends in Anderson's movies to be combined into a punchline.
