"Shambles" is right up there with "Dice", "Blooming" and "Influencer" for me... I enjoy Miku's backing vocals here, she adds a little of the wonderful angelic harmonies as in "Blooming".
Akane puts more rolls in this 3:30 minute song than most bands have on a whole album.
Ton of isolated stuff (headcam views) from each member on Band Maid Prime, sure this one will get that treatment. The headcams of Misa and Akane for Warning are spectacular.
The headcams of Kanami makes me dizzy because she dances, she can't stay still!
YES! Thank you for pointing out the bridge! Their bridges are the best. Sometimes it is more overt like Blooming and sometimes their genius is more subtle like YOLO, but they are never just killing time with the bridge like other bands. That melody and that bridge would be another song by any other band as a single, but Kanami uses it just for a bridge. There's not many bands where you can find yourself gushing over their bridges, but with Band-Maid it is a serious part of what makes them top-level talent.

I just saw them last night here in Chicago. They put on a spur of the moment Okyuji for fans at a small venue, a pre-show to Lollapalooza. It was super late, around 1130. There were a few hundred of us there since it was last minute. Unfortunately they didn't play Shambles, Miku said they were saving that for today. But the show was so intense. You are going to have so much fun. They are ready for the biggest festival performance of their lives. The first Japanese band to play in 13 years. ぽ
I have absolutely no doubt that the Thunder Buddies Misa and especially Akane are to blame for the fact that the place where they shot this video ended up on fire. 🔥🤘🏻
And I agree, this bridge with the buildup driven by the drums already belong to the best of them for me. :)

I've been imagining it since the first time I heard this song. I think everyone will have the same feeling. She is just sublime behind the kit. Such a musician.

I hope we'll get a LIVE version. But this was another Anime Theme Song commission, so BAND-MAID may not even own the rights. I don't think there's a LIVE version of 'Glory' either.
Wally, Leavae it to Band Maid to take a commissioned song for ending credits of an epic anime film and turn it into a face-melting, gut-busting hard rock banger. By the way, Akane's drumming is not insane. Insane means out of control. AKANE IS NEVER OUT OF CONTROL. She's one of the few drummers around who always kkeps the tempo going properly but adds so many flourishes and fills to add more value to the song. No wonder Jimmy Page compared her drumming to John Bonham's.
Interesting to see Saiki using a cable mic in this, as live now she is using a wireless mic, as are the three guitars. I would really like them to release a slower song next time, just to hear the beautiful elements in Saiki's voice- it's been a long time.
Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid.
So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘 Thx, Wally!
I remember that you like anime. This song was made for the "Kengan Ashura" season 2 ending. Maybe the lyrics are more understandable.
