I have been looking for this piece for months, ever since I heard it on a radio station. Most of the time, I listen to heavy rock and metal, but I heard this and loved it within seconds. I play the flute and I wanted a challenging piece to aim for, and this is perfect. It is emotional and technical and absolutely brilliant. I adore and cherish every second.
This makes me feel rather old, and far more appreciative of the things I have, and the music created in this world. This unextraordinary only in the fact that I am yet to turn 15.

I suppose you've been playing this piece since discovering it last year. You could probably find the necessary other musicians as well at the university near you. Let us know how this is coming. There are some other works for the combination out there: The Mendelssohn d-minor trio (he transcribed it) Czerny, Martinu (of which Pahud has a good recording, here) for ex.
@@howardcohen6817 I'm now 16, and about 6 months ago I was playing the piece beautifully, but due to medical issues, I've been unable to play since. I love the idea of finding other musicians to play this with, and I will definitely look into it in the future. Also, thankyou for the recommendations - I will be listening to those later on today :)
@@Rara-bz7vs I'm sorry about your medical issues preventing you from playing flute and hope this all gets better and you can play again, soon. I'm 66 and just love practising daily. At present I'm learning a Trio by CPE Bach in E-Major which I don't know yet - I'll be teaching it in a couple of weeks, sooooo. Flutistically, howie.

A really outstanding performance! Listen for example to the seemingly effortless brillance of the virtuoso passages in the first movement (2:35) which so often tend to provoke superficial activity. Or the trueness in the different emotions at the beginning of the scherzo (8:40). Congratulations!

This is a rare combination. Using the flute rather than the more common violin in the treble is very demanding. There is a special sonority to find here, which must be taken into due account. It must not look like a transcription of a traditional piano trio, nor a piece for flute accompanied by a piano and a cello. This work is probably the best chamber work of Weber. For instance, the quintet with clarinet is outstanding, but looks like a mini-concerto for clarinet and strings, which is not exactly the spirit of the chamber music.
There are few original trios with flute and a lot of trios originally written for violin which was adapted for flute. It is not a rare combination.
“Demanding” for and “taken into due account” by whom? The composer or the performers?

Superbe. Étonnant, et irrésistible, ce scherzo en position médiane. L'Andante (tiens, 3 temps...) espressivo qui suit est délicieusement arrondi de courbes et surtout atteint la plénitude par une complicité remarquable entre les musiciens. Mais alors le Finale est tout simplement jubilatoire 😃. Bravissimo. Un "3-en-1" absolument réussi ! 🤪👏😂❤️
