Back in the days of terracing 50,000 crammed into one end terrace.. Mental times ,but awesome to witness.. The Early Toon Army . A sight to behold... Noise of a thunder storm , The smell of cheap burgers piss stained bogs and bovril... Intimidating and mind blowing...A natural force unleashed to the public !! At this time in history most people were shit scared of Newcastle and its people... Fierce Loyal and no time for fools !!!Newcastle United was a massive release for the frustrations of the overlooked North East folk...Tough people who learned to overcome any hardship... Hence the saying .Fuck with one Geordie ,you fuck with them all !!! As a life long fan . I am more proud of the support and the Geordie nation as a whole.. Especially today as Greedy Oxygen thieves have hijacked our team club, community !!! Shame on the 1%ers and fuck them!!!! They will eventually crash and burn as all things come full circle... This time was probably The pinnacle of N.U.F.C. As a champion of working class folk...

Incredible atmosphere, different sections of the ground singing ‘United’ and ‘Howay the lads’ out of synch. Was it a working class club? Most of the fans were, and filled the Leazes End not the Gallowgate like today. But even then there was much unrest and regular chants of sack the board. There were rumours of corruption and gate receipts deliberately low and the feeling it was a cash cow for the Directors like Lord Westwood, McKeag and Seymour if I remember rightly. They had all been sleeping since 1955 (1969 was an anomaly) and unbeknown to all the fans worse was to come, Gordon Lee, Richard Dinnis and relegation due decades of mismanagement. It wasn’t until John Hall stepped in that the giant came to life and briefly flourished under Keegan and Robson.
