    Back in the day when semis were played on Saturday afternoons at 3pm like all the other games, and on a neutral ground other than Wembley, making the atmosphere so much greater with the dream of Wembley (the Holy Grail) awaiting the winners. Back when the FA Cup mattered and players were players not celebrities.

      When players were men (smoke,drink and still skillful). The pitches were muddy and if your kit was clean after 90 minutes you hadn't put any effort in.

    Wonderful to see this after all these years. I was there as a football mad 11 year old with my Dad supporting my beloved Blues. Seeing Big Joe Gallagher score his goal still makes it one of the greatest moments. Also have to add seeing the great Bobby Moore in action was / is a pleasure. The replay we also went to, but I try to forget that night.

    Brum should achieve much more than they do, massive support. They have to get in the PL big clubs like Brum are needed not dross like Palace. There must have been 45,000 Brummies at this game. I’m Chelsea had some lively days up at Birmingham. Good crew. Love this Birmingham kit. Some great players. Bob Hatton, Trevor Francis, Hit Man Howie Kendall. For those of you who may not realise, the Taylor playing for Birmingham is the guy who is now that PFA shithouse, Gordon Taylor.

    A memorable day . The last train back from Sheffield got diverted at Derby to go via Leicester. Left Sheffield at about 11.20 and was absolutely packed by drunken Blues fans. Arrived in Birmingham about 90 minutes late. One lad needed the toilet - couldn't get into it so got off the train to use the toilet on Derby station. The train left before he got back on 😂.

      The sad thing is that the sure your refer to is at the Leppings Lane End at Hillsborough where the 96 Liverpool fans died in 1989. So, so sad. The warning signs were there for years but we never saw it. Crowd surges were just seen as a normal part of the game

    • @thomasoflaherty3520
      @thomasoflaherty3520 Před 6 lety +1

      It was the fences there that killed them not the actual crowding aspect. NO fences on this game. You see I was in that same place the following year supporting Man Utd in another semi-final and we had the crowd but no threat to life due to no fencing in front of us.
