You absolutely HAVE to know what optimal impact looks like if you're going to train great mechanics.
If we don't know where we're going, how are we ever supposed to get there?
In today's lesson, we show you EXACTLY what optimal impact looks like, the physics behind why it is optimal...
.... and show MLB proof of how it's done!
Thanks for watching and I hope to help you much more with your game in the future!

Am I wrong when I say that the guy at 5:02 (looks like Hunter Pence) is using horrible technique? His front foot ends up way in front of where he started. Sure, this will work if you correctly guess fastball right down the middle and you put all your body into it, but anything else that requires REACTING to the pitch instead of guessing, won't really work.

Hey VicinNocal, thanks for the comment! That is Hunter Pence.... his technique is obviously not something that should be taught, but it works for him. The point of using his swing as an example is to show that even though his mechanics are quite unique, he still knows where optimal impact is... he also swings well over 100 mph so his release is extremely good. The other parts could use a little work :P

This looks more like extension than bat speed. Looks like you’re talking about getting extended.
