The word "Hero" gets thrown around a lot these days, and depending on which way you're using the word, the meaning tends to get lost by the wayside. But as a 40 year old man who has only recently come into his own on matters of woodworking and other forms of "making", I am confident in saying that Jimmy DiResta is one of my heroes. What a damn decent guy.

I fondly remember watching Hammered 15+ years ago and thought man this guys a super talented maker genius. I’m so glad I re-discovered Jimmy on YT a decade later and get to continue to enjoy watching his creative endeavors. Was also happy to see him pop up a few times on Ask This Old House, he would be a great permanent addition to that crew. Thanks for continuing to share your projects with the world.

Get outta my head!!! Seriously, I was just cursing the Walmart boxes where all my leather stuff is. I was considering getting a set of Packout drawers on a dolly. But, I think instead I'll make the Diresta pattern end cabinet. Thank you for the inspiration, and the plans. I think first I'll need to make a finger joint sled jig. I thought about doing dovetails, then I thought about 7 drawers and a shop cabinet.... who needs all that time, worry, and wasted drawers on redo's! Let's just get this one done and get these tools into a good home. Thanks again, Jimmy. Love your content, love these ideas. I really appreciate the time you put into making these videos.

I made something similar for my own workshop. 8 foot long, three feet high and two feet deep. In total it has 20 drawers. Four drawers in length. Top two are slim, next two are twice as thick and bottom one twice as thick again. I used plywood and pocket screws. It was the first project of that type and size I’d done, I was quite impressed with myself 🙂

Love every thing you do, my problem is I have a Legacy Garage. My neighbors father built the house and my three neighbors homes and it has a 30’ bench on the back wall 12’ of that is a typical 2x4 bench at one height the rest is part of the original kitchen that was just cut off and left in place, the over head cabinets are all odd sizes with limited utility all of the old cabinets are a three different top heights and the last 6’ is 12” deep to allow for the attic stairs. Translate that to workability it has very little space for rolling cabinets. My two roll always tie that up. I don’t want to hurt feelings ripping out the last of moms kitchen.

As someone struggling to manage inventory for at least 3 different hobbies, I'm thinking of making some of these. One for 3d printer parts, supplies, etc, one for electronics for various electronics projects, both for music and ham radio (far more in common between the two than most would imagine, and one for photography gear. But now to go stream some game play that has built in inventory management. Sometimes tighter than desired, but you get to fix that up along the way too. thanks. I'll use this as inspiration, probably doing more of a Baltic Birch frame. 1/4" ply or 1/8", for drawer dividers/shelves, and 1/4" solid for drawer frames. Not sure about fronts yet. Thinking of this as inspiration. I already have in mind document shipping boxes that I need to do box joints for, and will probably use something like JSK's router in a 5 gallon bucket as a router table solution for those. I don't have a lot of confidence in what I have as a table saw here. Last I tried to use it the blade wasn't solid to it's arbor. Doesn't make for confident cutting. .
    Thank you.

A couple of tips to try for the bandsaw version (which indeed is tricky).
    1. tighter band saw blade than normal. You really need to have it as tight as a drum.
    2. a taller fence than the piece you're cutting. I use a milling machine 90degree iron for this.
Small addition to this, the band saw, narrow blade, but with a smaller TPI. If you have the patience to cut a normal blade, to remove about ~3 mm off it, it's easier than to find them in "nature". At least here in Europe, they're quite pricey, so for the splitwork i do, i just cut a normal blade (with the TPI being tied to the type of wood i'm cutting, of course).

Love this! I also work on leather projects and this would be a great addition to my workshop! My problem is I don't have the equipment to make all this. Is there a chance all of the cuts and pieces could be made into a kit and shipped to customers who can then build the items? Just the wood would be ideal because then the individuals could decide on their own hardware and how they want to customize it. Thanks, Jimmy! You're awesome and I love catching everything you do.
