Thank so much for sharing this with us. I have always had a manually operating machine and it died so I have updated to the switch. I am a little bit scared to use it and I'm looking for ways to improve on my fear. Thanks for the inspiration and I'm sure I will be confident to use it soon. Need to make invitations for my daughters Wedding. Aww I’m sorry to hear about your kitty. 😢 Big hugs to you. ❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗 Trust me, you don’t have to be scared of the machine. It is very user friendly with the way it’s built. Just slowly get your plates out and and follow the directions right on the A adapter plate. If you’re r just cutting regular thin dies, then follow the directions for the Framelits or Thinlits on the A adapter plate. Easy Peasy, and once you run your first die through the machine, you will be in love with it!!! 😍😍😍😍 You are going to LOVE this machine and I’m so excited you have it!!❤️❤️😍 YAY!!!
Very informative. I do have a problem with my plates warping and wished I knew what I was doing wrong.

The Magic Mat is so wonderful. I love it! I use my switch plus machine a lot! But I still use my hand crank machines too. Especially when a power outage happens. I enjoy using all my machines. I’m addicted to die cutting machines basically. 😂😂😂😂 I love them all!! Lol 😆 Hugs, Missy 🤗🤗❤️

The magic mat is my go to for cutting now. I absolutely love it! ❤️ I hope you can find a sorbet switch plus at your local hobby lobby or online soon. It’s a wonderful machine. I might be crazy, but I think this black switch is even quieter than my sorbet switch. 😂 I’m going to check it with a reader just to see if it’s my imagination or not. The sorbet was a peach color. It did not sell nearly as well as the new Cherry Blossom color has done. Not sure how the white and black ones are doing. JoAnn’’s Fabrics has the black ones in stock.

Is there a difference between The magic mat and the green self healing mats? I have one of the green ones and would like to try it in my switch machine but I don’t want to break the machine.
Hello Sue. ❤️The magic mat is a thick mat. The magic mat should be thicker than your green self healing mat. The thickness of the magic mat is the same as the clear cutting plate thickness and that’s why it works so well. The thinner self healing mats work great with the Gemini machines. I do highly recommend the magic mat for the Switch Plus machines. Compare the thickness of your green self healing mat to the thickness of your clear cutting plates to see if they are the same thickness. If they are, you should be able to get it to work. I haven’t tried self healing mats in my machine because I just love how the magic mat provides excellent results every time I use it. Hope this helps. Have a wonderful day! ❤️❤️🤗🤗

May I ask what the roller thing is called that you used on that die with all the little bits. I stay away from dies like that because it takes to long to get the little bits out. But if there is a tool to help with that job I might up my crafting game! Thank you

Very nice video! I can't find the switch machine in any color anywhere. They are all sold out. I am on the notify list so hopefully I will hear soon. I used the Magic Mats with my Gemini Junior. I wasn't happy when they warped a lot in a short time. I will be anxious to see if the Mat does better in the Switch machine. Thanks! 😊

This runs on 110v. I’m not sure about 220v. There is an EU voltage version on Amazon for sale as well. I hope this helps. ❤️
I ruined my Sizzix switch by using the magic mat…it rolled itself into the machine. After an hour my husband finally got it out but now it stops halfway through and will not reverse… I am sick. I should never have used the magic mat.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of this happening. I love my magic mat. I always have my clear plate on top and cut down into the mat. I’ve used the mat a lot and I’m not sure how this could happen unless you cut with the mat on top maybe. 🤔
I am wondering if you had too many plates/layers? I used my MM with my mom’s Gemini and it did fine. Will all electric die cutters you want to use the least amount of layers you can to get the job done. That’s how you prevent warping of the clear plastic plates.
I do like my magic mat. I have the peach sorbet version. I have both sizes magic mat. You are the 2nd person to say the large mat can be cut down. Curious how you'll do that? It's quite impervious. Also, how will you finish the cut edge? Additionally, after lots of use, I've had significant warping with the magic mats. I use my hottest setting on hair dryer to heat the humps & bumps, then stack a heavy book on top. It works OK. I do flip and alternate the mats when using them, but so far they still bubble. I don't have a heat gun (it's on the wish list for 2023), but it would likely work better than my hair dryer.
Keep your MM plate long! That was you can use it on long, 12” scrapbook page border dies. They show up at thrift stores. (I won’t get rid of mine; good for using on wedding pages.) ❤
Does this machine take the huge acuquilt quilt in a day die?
I truly don’t know if those will fit in this machine. I’m not sure of the thickness on those dies. I don’t own any of those dies. Sorry I don’t know the answer for this question. Hugs, Missy 🤗🤗❤️❤️

Crafters companion it’s the “frosted flurry” die. It came out about 2 years ago. It’s a gorgeous die. ❤️❤️❤️

Can this be used with the old sizzix dies.....the red, yellow, blue ones and the red thinlets?
I wish I had some of the old dies to test for you. I’m not sure if they work. I thought all the old Sizzix dies would work, but now I’m not too sure. I tried an old sizzlet die in my machine and it dented my cutting plates. 🤦🏼♀️I couldn’t get it to work in the machine. Not sure if I was doing something wrong. Yes. The book that comes with the machine says you can cut all of their older dies with the Switch!

I’m co fused because it looks like one time the magic mat is cutting and layered on top and the other times it’s in the bottom. Which way is the correct way?
Clear cutting plate is always on the very top the stack. For regular dies, cut with your dies straight down into the magic mat. This will keep the magic mat from warping. If you cut with the mat layered any other way, the mat could become warped.
Do you know if using the magic mat affects the switch warranty?
I’m having issues with my embossing sandwiches. It does not emboss. Suggestions?
Use a shim. I go to the Dollar Tree and in the kitchen area they have foldable cutting mats. I cut them down with kitchen shears to fit my machine (I have 3) and feed it in with whatever is not cutting correctly. Works like a charm and more sturdy than chipboard.
I have the larger magic mat. How do you cut it down to size?
Hello Lizzi! 🥰❤️ Score the mat as deep as you can with an x-acto knife and bend it backwards. The mat will snap at the score line. Run your blade down the mat and slice through the tiny part that is still holding the mat together. Then trim to make the edges smooth. Hope this helps! I'm confused, the magic mat was placed on top of the cutting side of the die and the very next demo says don't put the magic mat on top?
You can cut with it either way. I depends on what techniques I’m using that I might actually cut differently with it. My favorite way to cut is with the mat on the bottom because it doesn’t really cause warping of the clear plate. If the mat is on top, you can have a lot of warping with the Magic mat itself. No way is completely wrong. I just prefer on the bottom because magic mat stays straight and my clear plate stays straight. Hope this helps explain it better. Hugs, Missy 🤗🤗❤️❤️

Definitely contact the company asap and let them know the machine isn’t turning on. Also check all your connections and make sure the power supply in the back of the machine didn’t come unplugged.
I have the sorbet switch machine and have had my reg sizzix plates warp like crazy. just got 2 magic mats and hope I will have more luck with that and the magnetic platform. do you think putting the plates in in landscape rather than portrait orientation would lessen warping?or perhaps it makes no difference?
Hello Pam. ❤️ The magic mats should work a lot better for you. And if they do start to warp you can just heat them back straight. I don’t have a huge warping problem with my plates or the magic mats. I always only cut into the same plate every time. I never flip my plates either. I’m not sure if running the plates through the other way would help. I tried to run them through the landscape way and it feels kind of awkward to do that because of how far the front of the machine sticks out along with the time it takes for the machine to grip the plates with the rollers. I definitely would stick to portrait. Only die cut down into one of the magic mats on one side of the mat always and use a cutting plate with no cuts in it on top, and see if that works better for you. Hope this helps. ❤️❤️❤️

Hello Diane! I used a sharp x-acto knife to score the mat a couple times as deep as I could. Then I bent the mat at the score line until it snapped in half. Then I ran the knife down the split and finished cutting the mat in half. Hope that’s easy to understand. ❤️❤️❤️

I've been using the Magic Mat for about a week, and I notice that indentations are forming into the Mat from some of the dies I've used. Will they disappear? I also noticed some indentations on your Mat from some of the dies you are using. Just want to know if there's something I should do to keep more from appearing or does it not make any difference over time..
It shouldn’t make any difference overtime Carolee. The thicker the die, the more of an indentation you will get. Anna Griffin dies will put deeper marks into the mat, which I’m okay with. I haven’t had any issues with the markings in the mat and my mat is still straight and cutting great. I don’t think there is a way to keep from marking the mat. I always cut into the same side every time. I’m not sure if heating the mats with a heat gun gets rid of the markings once you have a lot on the mat. The marks shouldn’t cause you any problems though. Hope this helps. 🥰❤️❤️

I use the magic mat with all my Sizzix machines. It works super great with the Switch!!! I love it and it keeps my plates nice and not warped. ❤️❤️❤️

I am looking into Heartfelt Creations flower molds but want to make sure this would work. I know they said the manual big shot but I can’t use a manual. I’m going to get some of the flower molds to try and do a video. It should work the same as the Tim holtz Bigz dies. The bigz dies are 5/8 inches thick. The largest the machine can take. For the molds you should use a clear plate on top of the mold and clear plate on the bottom. Add cardstock shims in between if needed. I hope this helps.
