      Honestly Mike. It was probably one of the heaviest boxes to lift. Heavier than the 2.5 version. I suppose it has to handle the power of the twin turbo.

    Great job that, reminded me when I done my Volvo 850. Sub frame down with everything disconnected on it and gearbox weighing a ton out on to it.
    Don’t know if you’ve considered getting a pressure bleeder, I’d highly recommend them. Not had one long but it’s great with no messing about pumping pedals up and down.
    Keep up the good work 👍

    I love your videos, I am not a mechanic myself but I’ve done a few clutches over the years. When I was younger I used to think I could do anything, nowadays I know my limits and a get a real mechanic like yourself to do most jobs. Are there some make/model of cars that you just won’t do? Either because they are too time consuming or because they are not suited to doing outside on a driveway ?

    Since you always remove the left side wheel but your steering wheels are on the right side, does that mean than in other EU countries where steering wheel is on the left side i would have to remove right side wheel?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  Před 2 lety +4

      I don’t think that will be the case. Unless your whole engine is left to right.
      But maybe you may have to approach differently if the steering is on the opposite side … a bit hard for me to visualise unless I see a left hand drive version

      @@WMCS Fair enough, great job as always. My 2014 V40 D2 still goes strong, I dont think that engine has enough power to wear down my clutch 😄, its an automatic tho i dont even know if clutch look the same or what they use.

    • @andrewstones2921
      @andrewstones2921 Před 2 lety

      @@Dreamlink91some modern automatic cars do indeed have a very similar clutch, though these are often referred to as semi-automatic, they have got more popular in the last 20 years, the first automatic I saw with a conventional clutch (though no clutch pedal) was a Smart Car. A “Normal” automatic has clutches inside the automatic transmission but you would have to remove and strip the automatic transmission to change these and it’s a really specialised job that would be done as part of a full auto transmission rebuild. So for all intents and purposes you can say that a normal automatic does not have a clutch as such. Kevin here does a proper job and replaces all the required parts, I did remember 20 years ago there were drive in clutch clinics in London that did £99 clutch repairs were all they did was change the friction plate, or even just drill out the rivets and attach new friction materials. This is common in parts of Asia where a days labour might be £5 for a skilled mechanic, but in the UK where labour is usually the highest cost it makes perfect sense to change the whole clutch assembly and of course the release bearing.

    • @Dreamlink91
      @Dreamlink91 Před 2 lety

      @@andrewstones2921 Yea my previous audi a6 c7 2014 was aswell as this volvo semi automatic. Kevin does amazing job yes. The reason i drive automatics is just that i preffer them more and i dont have to do those clutch swaps because in my country mathetial + job is around 3k Euros..pure insanity.
