i agree 100%, i had 3 1st generation Camaro's 2 67 RS, one Yenko clone, 427/425 and the 69 Z, i love the looks and sounds of the old cars but for cruising, gas mileage, etc. i would go with a new vehicle, now technology makes HP not just bigger cams, however must more difficult to do 'mods' on a new car and keep it legal
added to my playlist "ultimate car sounds compilation"... gotta love the chambered exhaust. I love the crackle, much better than the flowmaster 'drone'.
I understand, certainly cannot imitate the looks of a 69 Camaro, that's how cars were in the day, at least you could open the hood and actually do something. Now many engines are dropped down, no more rented cherry pickers like i used to do, any old Camaro is worth plenty, i never see any 6 cylinders at auctions though, i think they all have BB now
you really can't compare two cars that are 43 years apart. In 2055 year, the Mustang you speak of will be a slow relic to. In 1969 the Z28 camaro's could hold their own against any other 69 cars.
zxtenn - when I want to go fast in a modern car, I have a Porsche that does 0-60 in 4.1 secs and top speed of 185. I have never run the quarter with it so don't know the time.
All 302 soggy on the bottom, did you ever drive a car with 456 on the street or highway? It's a joke, i had 2 1st gen. Camaro's with 456 and with the Z-28 and decent handling it's just a waste-- the NEW Boss Mustang takes the old 302 to the cleaners, it's close to a 12 second car from the showroom vs a barely 14 second car in 69, i hate to say it but the new cars are substantially faster than the old, just read the old books, most barely broke 100 mph if at all, new SS Camaro 111 MPH, in 12's
Of all the great muscle cars of the era and I like them all, the first choice for me has always been a '69 Z/28 in Hugger Orange.
"Who let the dogs out?" Best line on youtube, ever.
Sounds nice!
It's identical to mine. Nice.
