She uses the Taubman approach to get rid of injuries and play with more fun. I started that too. It means never getting tense in the first place and to use natural movements based on rotating forearms, even if that becomes invisible later on.

Another pointed, and a very good, reminder that inefficient techniques can lead to serious, perhaps extensive, injury as a repetitive stress activity over long time frames. I've been there but it took me months of positive rehab work to fully recover. Injuries can occur in the lower body as well. Beyond good stuff, absolute important consideration. We have countless documented reports of same. Many we don't hear about because the victims quit playing. Be well and prosper.

i’m seeing a occupational therapist and still learning theory from a piano teacher a better than my original. Is there going to be an ability to play one day even if it’s a never injury?

Most injuries related to piano playing are over-use injuries and are fixable if one's technique changes to a more healthy and coordinated one IMO. The key lies in changing one's technique.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I too got injured twice when I was younger, which is why I started this channel to help people. Recovery from a performance injury is a hard journey but possible! I wish you well, best of luck!

I’ve read about the Taubman approach to piano playing to prevent injury , and read a story about a concert pianist who had injuries and was going to doctors and sports doctors and the only thing that helped was he got a lesson with Taubman and she showed him the technique to prevent injury so I do believe there is something in this going to doctors can’t help because when you go back to the piano you injure yourself again with the wrong technique, my belief.
