Football is an incredibly complex sport, made up of dozens of different systems all interacting with each other at the same time, the ball is coming towards a player at a certain speed, meaning they need to adjust their body shape to stop the ball, but at the same time, they’re being closed down by the opponent, but then they need to consider their positioning on the pitch, and where they need to move the ball next to help their team progress. It’s raining, their playing away, they’re e losing 1-0. All these are factors to consider, and they influence every choice a player makes on the pitch. And as a coach, this is the biggest hurdle to overcome, how do you improve your team’s decision making? And one solution seems to be the idea of scripting.

you have one of the best approaches to explaining tactics in football. Combining animations with real football situations helps to cement the idea and gives a clear understanding of the tactic being used. Thanks for sharing and keep it up!
Thank you mate, appreciate it 🙌
Manager like De Zerbi and Sarri are so amazing, the way that their teams play football is so mathematical and it works. It’s also beautiful to watch .
Sarriball at its best is amazing, beautiful team plays and goals
Thanks bro I'm gonna dominate school football by using this
Facts
You didn’t watch the video did you? Literally says at the end that during development this is discouraged as it removes decision making which is vital to learn at an early age
For school football, I recommend that you strive for humiliation instead of domination
@@carlosandresilvaaleixo8341maybe bad for development but bro tryna win games. He not an academy coach💀
@@smnwlshwhat’s the difference
Personally I enjoy watching football with a blend of coded movements and creativity
More coded movement in build up and protecting goal and creativity everywhere else
Very interesting video & I definitely learned a lot. This does give me certain moments to look when analyzing a game. Thank you for making this video.
I do like a share a "scripting" story that could be probably different or same to the one that is explain in the video.
Chris Ramsey, former youth coach at Tottenham & I believe he's currently at QPR, shared a story from Harry Kane's days in the academy. It's not about Kane, but on one or more games, he would tell Kane to let the opposition's center backs to launch long balls from the back. This is so Ramsey could see how the team's own center backs deal with long balls. Maybe after that, Ramsey could then see how the team build attacks, escape from opposition's pressure, etc.
Thank you again for the video & have a nice week 👍
This is fantastic man. I'm a stupid American I've been watching for 5 years and still don't really understand tactics as much as I want to(absolutely love the sport though). This video really helped me a lot thank you, most other channels just run through all the numbers and expect you to know everything.
Thank you mate!
Been in amateur football management for 5 years. This video was a greatly detailed and meticulous breakdown. Liked, subscribed and commented.
Thank you mate 🙌🏻
simple and effective, I now understand and can analyse a football game
Love your content.
Your META teaching have really opened my eyes to the game on a different perspective.
Keep up the great work.👏
This is what we needed. Pure tactical kind of things..
Brilliant video, thank you. I would love to see you expand on the scripted/coded aspects beyond the examples shown here. Perhaps a series of videos each tackling a typical phase scenario and you then cover the top 5 highest percentage/ most effective scripted patterns that typically occur in that scenario with the videos then moving through the game model phases in logical sequence much like when watching a brilliant team goal starting from the keeper and build up and then moving through the thirds to a finish but broken into separate videos bite sized chunks and with lots of variations. This would help me become better/faster at recognising typical scripted plays a team is using or noticing they are doing something different than typical and so perhaps working unscripted. I hope that makes sense, it could become a really good and useful series!
Quality content! You've earned yourself a new sub. Keep up the good work
Speaking of improving the content, the small audio effects on the board play is just the thing that was missing from your presentations. Really great stuff.
Love your channel, keep it up!
Thank you!
you are inspiring and teaching me a lot of things that will help me achieve my dream as a manager :)
Love this! Very well put together.
Dang this is great content for coaching. Thanks! Keep it up!!!
Another brilliant video. Noted evrything important stuff and hope to do so with the rest of ur videos. EDUCATIONAL
For me this is the best and most complete explanation of how football works. I've shown it to my inexperienced team mates and they understaind football much better now. Thank you!
Great to hear!
Very interesting and good explanation too
Thank you! 🙌🏻
Wow, the whole thing of breaking down plays into bite-sized chunks makes this so much easier!! Wow!! Amazing Video!
Wow!
This was an amazing video!
Keep these coming.
Love you animations too! 👏👏👏
Quality content. You convert instincts which players/managers/watchers feel into terms & ideas. SUBLIME video concepts!
Really really great job man. you’ve broken down principles and training in such a clear way, fantastic.
Thanks man
This video to me is the most revolutionary video about modern football made. I now understand better. I've been longing to understand how coaches arrange their training and how they think. Thanks bro
Excellent 8lin depth analysis....very enjoyable. ...keep up the very good work...
Another awesome videos. Keep it up
An excellent analysis video! Keep it up!
thank you my friend amazing channel, the best football tactics channel in YT
Excellent video. I learn so lot.
The way Ancelotti's Real Madrid breaks out of the defensive phase is very interesting, and different to Mourinho's a decade ago. The players bond with each other so well that they improvise on the spot. The first leg against Chelsea saw some great transitions. Now that there's Bellingham, Fran and Guler, it's gonna get better.
Best and clearest video to show how football analytics work in professional way
great channel i love your content🤩
Amazing video! Probably one of the best you made, in my opinion.
Thank you bro 🙌
Wow, this is a high level tutorial of football tactics. I love your channel
This was really well done. Bravo
Great stuff mate!

First time I've seen your channel. But love the video I've just watched. It's really interesting and hoping I can take some things from it into my coaching of kids
Woow this jst made me look football in different way keep it up mamen u light will shine👏
Thanks so much for the breakdown
Very infotmative.thanks.would love a breakdwon like this on dezerbis tactics
Love this video! Do you have a video showing any other ideas for principles coaches use in attack/defense that relate to game models?
Amazing work, my favourite football channel by far👍👏
Great video I m definitely gonna apply this in my fifa gameplay
Love these videos! They are really informative, I love the addition of the training segment, many of us here are managers or aspiring managers and more of those would help us a ton! Love the videos, keep up the great work!
Thanks man, I plan on starting a new series interviewing coaches and getting them to explain their thought process behind certain exercises, so hopefully something you guys can engage with
@@FootballMeta I think we would all enjoy that, I will be waiting for it!
Manager career better watch out... anyway, thanks for the content!
Adam clearly of 442 mentioned something like this when talking about England's new footballing philosophy. Already figured it out and translated it in Football Manager. However, Thanks for expanding it better and now I'm excited to try it on FM
Excellent work
Thank brother this is very useful 👌
You got one sub... Thought I understand football all this while.
Thanks for sharing bro
Great vid ⚡️
This was explained brilliantly. I’m talking better than coaching courses. And you explained it in 10 min within a video. Fantastic information and very easy to understand.
Thank you 🙌
Great insight 💯
Awesome 3rd man ball movement explained ❤
This is a real talk bro I will try to emulate
Great video!
Great video 🔥
Clear & concise
I am in Uganda Africa, I really like your illustrations. I am learning a lot. Thanks 👍👍👍👍👍
The correct wording if you are using Cognitive Science as a mental model is "automatism". Automating actions rely on knowledge stored in long-term memory, pattern recognition (which is limitless). Automatisms reduce the cognitive load players experience when trying to "think" and use "decision-making" during an extremely demanding series of actions (a match). In matches, "thinking" is slow. Pattern recognitions and the accompanying practiced responses within a game model is what makes certain teams very successful when implementation certain models such as juego de posicion and juego de fases
Your comment: "however should be

avoided as much as possible during

development and in youth teams as the

main priority during these stages of

development is to increase decision

.. has no scientific backing in the field of cognitive science research. The myth of "let them figure it out" is counter-productive for beginners (non-expert learners).
@@losgauchosfutbolclub interesting. I fully believe you but could you share some sources for the "the myth let them figure it out is counter productive for beginners" part? I would like to educate myself further! Thank you
Greatly appreciated
Good explanation ❤
Brilliant video
Brilliant video ❤❤
Great video
This was a very high level video. I know that I alone only have so much of an opinion, but I really do believe that you should make more videos expanding on this. For example, learning about the 4 phases was really interesting.
At the end you stated that younger teams should not rely on scripting. It would be nice to see your ideas that could be supplementary for like a high school team, or something to that effect.
Well done bro
Thanks for the well detailed information that will make it easy to understand the basics to train for best performance. I only think due to changing situations to the complexities of the game it is better to name the goal of training adaptability rather than scripted .good luck
A lot of informative video man... I learned a Lot.... Specially your explanation about the Developing Training Session for Build Up was amazing... As a lover lf Football really appreciate your Efforts... Huge Fan❤️❤️❤️
Thanks man appreciate it 🙌
From which software are you getting your clip videos? Well done!
Brilliant and simple
Great video. 👍My game model looks a bit different, when I classify the sub-phases. But overall quite similar. When I did my A-License in Germany, I can remember that we discussed this topic during the course. And the overall result was, that the defensive behavior during the defensive phases of the game is much more scripted, while offensive behavior relies much more on creative solutions and the ability to take own decisions especially if we talk about the final third, when it comes to creating chances and breaking through. Of course it is a multifaceted topic and it depends on different factors. At the end there are different ways to be successful, which makes the game so interesting in the end. 😊
Good day sir. Can I have your mail
Circuit based football or scripted play has it’s limits. Sarri tried it at Juventus and Chelsea he didn’t worked like it worked at Napoli or Lazio. However it’s one of the most beautiful style of football in my opinion.
His Chelsea were successful no?
I loved this video🔥🔥🔥
In regards to youth not adopting a more structured approach to improve decision making. I feel it's important to have alignment between the youth team and the first team in the philosophy that you adopt. If the youth team plays in the same manor as the first team, transitioning up would be seamless.
Congratulations! Which program do you use for animations on the tactical board? Thanks
When I here the word "scripting", FIFA Games come to mind.
A better for this kind of play is Circuit.
Thanks bro, now I can peruse my dream of being Liverpools manager 👍🏼
can you guys make a video on ball playing center backs it would mean a lot
Working on it, will be out next week thanks for the suggestion 🙌🏻
Thank you and congratulations on your videos, they progressively get better! I would stay with your comment warning youth levels not to become scripted/coded. Although I do agree, I wonder if coding the youth player, SPECIFICALLY in the US, could have a more positive than negative effect on their development. As far as the Pro level, I believe both approaches should be utilized, in a fluid manner from the players perspective, and a strategic manner from the coaching perspective. Players would have the liberty to be creative but can fall back on "muscle memory" when needed; and, coaches can flip the script to deceive the opposing team tactics.
Hello sir. Your videos helps alot. Im a field hockey coach. U12 - U17. I applies your tactics in game and really helps alot. I want to ask something ..how can we connect sir. Keep up the good work.
J adore. Merci.
These videos always make me feel like going out to get a box of Smarties
Shall we assign numbers based on tradition? It helps understanding the players at play in every phase of the game
Can you please explain in detail about sarriball?
Could you analyze the New tactic of Luis Enrique at PSG? Thanks
I like how de zerbi organize players for build up
Make a video About Sarris Napoli pls
Yeah, please do a material about modern center backs principles...
Too scripted, running the risk of copying American football. At the professional level and for the big money those players earn, shouldn’t they be able to resolve most situations themselves by mental or athletic means? One of the aspects of the beautiful game is creativity generated from athletic skills or soccer IQ…. why jeopardize these qualities?
@@silvioferraro5165 Statistics. 1 of 20 players is capable of creativity, the rest is not. People are not equal in their potential. In such cases you need a creativity from manager, to let him create rules to follow for those "dumber", yet fast or athletic, players.
Can u make a video on ten hag
Is there any training drills for Scripting I really like to know, thank you
Great video. Interesting how Brighton and Man City are both automated teams but Brightons system is great to watch whereas city’s is very boring
Make a video on 532 formation.
In my opinion, managers should teach "macro-principles" and then let the players interpret them freely. See Wenger's Arsenal or Ancelotti's Madrid, or even more Diniz's Fluminense. If you automate too much, you get sterile after a while.
Imagine Basketball-like plays in Football. I think that would be cool
