Beautiful APC, and I wish it would be back in service for many more decades.
Yah, philippines still using this upgraded m113, it's cool
Looking forward for the 81 and 120 mm mortar upgrade.
Pretty mild upgrade compared to the Australian M113AS4.
It is since the Australian Army not just upgraded the weapons suite but also the base M113 itself.
atleast it's strong
Which the ADF within two years of that uprgrade planned under Land 400 defence budget to replace, shortlisted now being Hanwa and Boxer IVF.
Why? M113 upgrade has half these options armour, a third the firepower, and outdated comms.

damn as an aspiring engineer its always discouraging that any idea to upgrade old military equipment has already been done two years before you thought of it.
Nice
OZ has a fair few spare M113's which we could give to our allies
Our M113’s look great with those! Hopefully more will get upgraded
I’m not a furry i swear I don't want our M113's APC to become an IFV and FSV wannabe. I hope PArmy will upgrade more M113's armed with Elbit Dragon 12.7mm RCWS and Soltam Cardom 120mm Self-propelled Mortar Carriers.
Faiz Yes, 44 units M113A2 APC are currently upgraded with Elbit Dragon 12.7mm RCWS, 5 units upgraded into Self-propelled Mortar Carriers with Soltam Cardom 81mm and 15 units with Soltam Cardom 120mm which are the appropriate upgrades in my opinion.
Okay, I can understand the 32 units M113A2 planned to be upgraded with Elbit MT25 manned turret but hopefully no more UT25 RCWS to complement the 4 existing units. AFAIK no country Army except the Philippine Army is currently operating M113's upgraded with 25mm or higher caliber gun RCWS, and also upgraded into M113 FSV.
Higher caliber guns RCWS are costlier. IMO it's only worth to consider this type of upgrade applied into a legit IFV chassis with high level of armor protection. If Philippine Army really wants to consider operating new IFV's then better get the real ones like the ASCOD for tracked IFV's and Pandur II 8x8 for wheeled IFV requirements. These both IFV types can be armed with Elbit UT30MK2 (30mm RCWS and Spike-ER ATGM) and manufactured by Steyr-Daimler-Puch part of GDELS a well-known defense company.
Faiz Have you check MaxDefense latest post? He just shared some updates of the Philippine Navy's corvette initial specs requirements like the following,
- 95-105 meters long
- 13-14 meters wide
- 2300-2500 tons full load displacement
- at least 4,000 nautical miles autonomous range
- at least 25-27 knots maximum speed
So based on this specification it looks like the Philippine Navy is looking to acquire either SIGMA 10513 or SIGMA 10514 frigates? I'm sure Hanwha has no place in these said frigates. :)
@Faiz Absolutely. A lesson learned. Damen did not join FAP the last time probably not happy with the ABC. HHI with its ship size and original config proposal in my opinion was too good to be true which was clearly a bait and switch tactics. I think there's also some lapses on PNs side, Don't ever dream a capable frigate with a corvette budget. If only FAP budget was intended for corvette specs requirement, I think there's more Shipbuilders would submit a bid including Damen and might offered SIGMA 9813 corvette with Thales config similar to Royal Moroccan Navy.
Imagine if we have 2 units SIGMA 9813 corvettes arriving instead of HHI frigates and 2 units SIGMA 10514 frigates for acquisition, That would be awesome.
MarvelCU I have a question, are 105mm guns compatible with the KAAV7A1? If yes PMC should upgrade the KAAV7A1’s with 105mm guns once they receive them
What about a RCWS with 30mm 2A42.
How many troops capacity?
My favorite box

O Brasil tem que adquiri isso nós temos 600 em 113

Galing, sana mapalitan lang ang kulay (camou) hehe sobrang dark, kitang kita sa malayo 😊
Elbit is also upgrading the artillery system and the UAV for recon purposes...
Philippines will be procured more weapons, tanks, jets, war ships, missiles and more for AFP.

We need self propelled armaments like K9 thunder of South Korea.
While the K9 Thunder is the best 155mm mobile howitzer out there, I don't see where this fits into the overall needs. There are IFVs with hybrid electric drives, virtually silent band tracks, and they'll support the same range of weapons that the upgraded M113s received. Given the nature of the troubles those would be a much better investment.
It's already look like a tank, just put a turret on top and call it's a day.

We have it now 100 missiles

120mm is nothing to sneeze about ...
Don Koh 120mm is enought to destroy enemy tanks and armored troop carriers.
So it is something to sneeze about
LoL !! thanks for reply ... but actually the cliche 'nothing to sneeze about ' translates to something in fact being significant, not insignificant .
The 15th. Inf. had 4.2. mortars mounted inside our M-113s long ago.
This tank needed fitted with Israeli Trophy defense system !
That's an APC(Armored Personel Carrier)
it's an APC it's only looks like a tank but they are strong tho I saw some footage were they tested it
Cute but dangerous!!!!
what do you mean by cute? it doesn't have a frikin face! XD
After Edsa One the Philippine Arm Forces become weaker until now !
True
M113's are great until an RPG shows up.
There are M113 armor packages that will stop an RPG.
we filipinos fitted thicc wood onto our armor...
which can stop an RPG round...
@UCrrnqDS5p9KDFq4lo3fsT8A yes that is right, its just them literally having those M203s everywhere. also my previous comment was a bit outdated, so it can only stop old RPG rounds, but its very resourceful
They are not designed to take RPG hits though, even the Bradley can't take more than one hit. Just not that kind of vehicle.
