Nosferatu is an upcoming American supernatural gothic horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers, and starring Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok. Following Werner Herzog's Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979), it is the second remake of the 1922 film written by Henrik Galeen and directed by F. W. Murnau, which in turn is an "unauthorized and unofficial" adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula.
Development on the film began in 2015, following the release of The Witch. Eggers planned to make it his second film, describing it as a passion project, but eventually opted to delay production and go on to direct The Lighthouse and The Northman instead. Frequent collaborator Anya Taylor-Joy was attached to the project earlier, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Skarsgård and Lily-Rose Depp were cast as leads in September 2022. Nicholas Hoult joined the cast the following month, with the remaining cast confirmed in early 2023. Filming primarily took place in and around Prague between February and May 2023.
Nosferatu is a co-production of Studio 8 and Maiden Voyage Pictures, and is set to be released theatrically on December 25, 2024, by Focus Features.

Really like "the last voyage of the demeter" for a vampire flick. There was a critic that had a great quote for that movie that i think is the best way to think of vampires. "Don't think of them as men that become monsters, but instead think of them as monsters pretending to be men. And be afraid when they no longer need to pretend."

Every single one of Robert Eggars movies brought tears to my eyes I loved them so much when I first saw them. Idk what it is about this man but his movies just affect me in a way no other filmmaker does. I was crying at the end of The Northman I liked it so much. So to say I’m excited for this is an understatement! I think some artist just speak to you in your soul and Robert’s art does for me. (A part of it could be is that I love history a lot and I love reading about old times and cultures so I probably feel the history nerd energy and that’s what I love. 😂)

Looks interesting enough, although I'm not sure from the trailer if Eggers is really going to bring anything new to the genre. Probably the last vampire story I really liked was the 1998 TV series "Ultraviolet".
