    This video details the price we paid for our Kubota MX5400 tractor (Fall 2020) and the Land Pride implements that we purchased soon after. I made this video to help potential customers plan a budget for either new Kubota tractor or a used one. I also discuss why we chose the Kubota MX5400 and the Land Pride implements.
    This is not a review for the Kubota MX5400, just my 1 year anniversary impressions. I do not receive any compensation for this video.

    Great video!
    Just returned from my local dealer, the price for the MX4500 Hst is $41,300.
    Forks 48” 4000# $1200. Forks 48” 2000#. $750
    72” Root Grapple and Third func valve $4,000
    A bit of increase, wouldn’t you say…

      Yikes Jim!! I’ve heard that from others all across the country. I know we have serious inflation going on but these increases seem a bit much. My local dealer has quite a few on property, and if others do too, then maybe the market will slow down and these may hold steady or go down in price…or at the minimum start making some deals. Thanks for sharing this info, helps others out tremendously!!

    New subscriber here. Very informative. You have an awesome tractor.
    I bought the L2501 for very much the same reasons that you bought your tractor for. I went with the L2501 because of the fact that they have no emissions stuff on them, coming in just under the federal tier 4 emissions requirement.
    I also went with the gear drive and the R1 ag tires. I have 224 acres. 110 of it is timber / pasture that I mow. Because of tight places and low tree limbs,a cab won’t work for me either.
    I love my L2501. It does a super job for me and is a delight to drive. Mine has been modified some. I feature the tractor and mods on my channel frequently and those videos are always a hit.
    Great job on this video. Glad I found you.

    "They offer too many implements" lol. Yes very accurate info, Kubota owner here as well L3560 cab. You are 100% correct about a non cab station taking up less space on the trails, had to do some extra trimming on our trails for cab clearance. Hydro static drive as well, love it. Spent years on CASE equipment gear drive.....ugh, yes more power but more juggling as well. Correct about PTO horsepower, in my opinion thats more important than total engine horsepower. Also very happy with the Kubota experience, will be a Bota customer for life. We dont have as many implements as you do, everyone has different needs and wants. Front loader with quick release bucket, rear blade for snow work, land plane for gravel drive matienence (works great) carry all with homemade box for all hand tools, chain saw, prunners, gas cans. Kubota makes many models inside each family group allowing the customers to buy exactly what they need.... as you and others know. Appreciate your time and video content, many thanks.

      I do have a need for a carry all, especially when doing work by myself out in the woods. I use my Kawasaki Mule to haul stuff, mainly because I have help (me on the tractor and kids on the Mule). I've seen the Big Tool Rack, seems a bit pricey...I like the carry all idea with a wooden box of some sort. Thanks again for supporting the channel!! Best, Ed

    Good break down on prices and your uses. It’s all about matching uses and the tractor for sure. For me, I needed big enough to lift large round bales, driveway maintenance and shredding. I was fortunate to find a MX5200 two years ago that was a 2014 model with 70hours. Like new, gear drive with the LA1065 loader and bucket (didn’t look to be used more than a couple times). Total price $ 14,000….seller also had same forks and a box blade (undersized box at 5’) but got both for $400 though.
    No way I could get near this setup today…just two years later the prices have gone nuts. I got mine right before the Covid release…..
    Nice knowing I can use it for years and still have option to sell and get money back. I did add led lights to ROPS and a roof as it gets over 100 degrees here

      Great comment Brad! These prices are crazy, I follow a few FB groups and the used prices people are getting is nuts, I do drive by dealerships and see that their inventories are getting back to normal, so I think we may see some downward pressure on used prices soon. Sounds like your serious perfect for your needs, mine too, and feels good knowing we don’t have to wade into the price madness today. Thanks for commenting and watching! Good luck!!

    I have the non-turbo li'l brother to this machine, the MX4700, and it's a keeper. The biggest mistake I made was ordering it without a FEL. I mow tight trails that the additional length of the FEL would make problematic. However, nowadays they are relatively easy to unpin, and I'm finding it is at this time impossible to get a loader for it. Otherwise, I utilize a bushhog, box blade, and landscape rake on a regular basis, and I've put 650 trouble free hours on it since 2012. Enjoy your machine, and just remember buy once, cry once.

    • @UpNorthNybergs
      @UpNorthNybergs  Před rokem

      Thanks for your insight and experience! I pretty much keep the FEL on most of the time, it can get tight in the woods, but most of the time I use it in the woods to move logs and/or push over some standing dead trees (very carefully, of course). I did hear that implements are getting a tad bit easier to find, not sure on a FEL. I wish you luck in finding one. I am still very happy with this tractor...now i just need a snowblower ;-) Thanks for watching!

    Great video! I purchased a brand new mx5100 hst back in 2014 before tier 4 final came into play. I don't know if you keep your backhoe on a lot. But the mx tractors are really light in the back. I filled my tires with windshield washer fluid, and added two weights per wheel. I also added the rubber floor mat you have on your tractor. I don't know if you have any remotes but a hydraulic top link would be really handy with your quick hitch. I believe you can also get an armrest set for your seat. Make sure to do a 50 hour service! It's very easy and it's crazy the amount of metal filings that will be attached to the hst filter magnet. I changed the hydraulic oil and filters. I'm very surprised that you didn't go with r1 ag tires.

      Hi Michael, thanks for the comments and questions! I am a bit different as to how I use the attachments...I usually use the backhoe in the spring to do some dirt work and remove stumps. I then switch a lot between the boxblade and chipper as I continue to clean up the property. I then start to use the rotary cutter after I am certain that the fawns are up and moving (I would hate to hit a baby fawn with the tractor or cutter). My use is probably a bit different but because I work full-time, I have to have some type of schedule ;-) It was a big decision to go with the R4 tires, my salesperson and I discussed my uses around the property and he suggested the R4's and so far they have worked out well. Just watched the video and I have to say more people who buy new tractors need to post videos like this if they have the ability to. It helps level the playing field for customers just like when someone goes and buys a car or truck. I see so much differences in tractor prices with kubota and deere dealers. Ive seen the same damn tractor priced at lets say 25,950 and another dealer has the same model tractor with same features and implents for 6000 dollars more. Its ridiclous. The shady salesmen are in tractor sales to. So I feel when customers make these videos it will help customers who are looking to buy a new tractor the info they need so they dont get taken by the dealer on the price. More people need to start doing this cause the more they do it the more dealers will see that customers are paying attention, there doing, there research regarding whats a good price and whats not.

    I was devastated by my kubota dealer. I ordered the Lseries with the same hoe and the next sized smaller loader almost a year ago. The dealer encouraged me to get there and put the down payment on the tractor and implements and get the 0% for 84 months financing before the year end to avoid the new year price increase. I did exactly what the dealer said I should do to "LOCK" in my price. After 11 1/2 months the unit arrived and the dealer told me I owed them $8,000 more than I signed the contract for. I am now awaiting word from my attorney since nobody seems to acknowledge that according to Michigan law what they did was illegal. Kubota says the dealer has no authority to claim they can lock in a price. I have in writing those exact words, yet here I sit having to pay money for an attorney to defend my rights!

    • @UpNorthNybergs
      @UpNorthNybergs  Před rokem +2

    • @jfbeam
      @jfbeam Před rokem +1

      Make them pay your legal fees and court costs as well. The Contract is The Contract. You bought it from the dealer, not kubota. The price change is, thus, between Kubota and the dealer. The dealer doesn't want to eat the difference, but they're the ones who made the contract. When I buy something new (which is rare), get the price in writing, and don't hand over a penny until the entire thing is there. (The whole Tesla deposit "scam" should've taught everyone that. Give us a grand and someday we'll get around to making your car. And that was _long_ before the pandemic effect.)

      I just bought one yesterday in January 2024. $42,142.80 less $700 for cash. Loader, r4 tires, fluid filled back tires, hst, rear remotes. Same tractor as shown above except he didn't mention the rear remotes. I have two other Kubotas, an L3010 hst and a 2013 M7040 cab tractor both have FEL and 4wd. I messed up and put a used, 280 hr Jd 5045e 4wd, no loader in the mix for a hay raking tractor. I hated it, it vibrated the steering wheel at all rpms , sucked fuel, took a football field to turn around, I could go on and on about leaks, electrical issues. I couldn't sell it even fixed? First time I've ever lost money on a tractor?? They gave me $3k less than I paid for it on trade and I'd put 70 hours on it, fully serviced it, and that was $2k more than another dealership offered! My M7040 cab was cheaper than than this new mx5400, but I can't wait to see the green one leave! Don't buy an E series JD, no matter what size it is! I have a friend that bought his brand new, and it has less than 20 hrs on it and most of them were from it sitting in the shop, testing and waiting on parts? I've finally cried once😅. I'll stay orange from now on!

    Word of advice for anyone buying these days. Get a private bank loan and buy used with implements. The interest rate is ridiculous but compared to the inflation of these machines, you will save a fortune. These Kubotas have gone way up.
