    Hey there! I just found your channel. What a great grocery haul. Nice your hubby did all the shopping. I like grocery shopping but 5 stores is lot! We buy a lot of the same things at Costco but didn't like the stone ground flour. I wish they had regular organic flour. I feel like I need to make a Trader Joes trip now. :) Thanks for sharing.

    YEAH! I just quit coffee, too! I'm drinking the "PERO" we have to replace my morning warm drink - since it's hot I am drinking it alot less now.
    My hubby does the shopping too! :) So glad to hear of another shopping dad!

    I agree 100% about the high quality of that brand of pasta!! Love those Costco tortilla's that you actually cook stove top as you need per person per meal!
    Where is Jewel stores located?
    You are a top narrator and description speaker for your hauls. : )
    I think I would rather enjoy shopping together with my husband then stay at home. I need a breather and enjoy a cup of coffee and looking at the produce and meat, but even if it's spending $$ together, as long as there is a list in hand that both agreed upon, both should make the other welcomed and company desired.

    Just wanted to share with you that I recently had a "reverse osmosis" water filter installed under my sink. It is connected to the ice maker in the fridge, too!! I bought it directly from APEC although they sell them on Amazon. I got the "better" one for about $300 as I recall. Your husband can probably install it, but mine couldn't so we had the expense of a plumber. It's so incredible!!! The water tastes so good. I have a tester that I got on Amazon for around $10. Checked my water before and after and the reading after went down to about .04 ppm??? I don't really remember now, but my ice cubes actually look completely clear of crud. It removes about 95% of flouride. I also got a shower head filter to remove flouride and chloride (but it removes only about 75%). You could really save a lot of money with one of these!

    • @classylifeboutique
      @classylifeboutique  Před 8 lety +1

      Wow! That's awesome! Thank you for sharing! :) We used to have a great shower filter, but with our last move a couple of years ago, it didn't make it. We're renting the house we're in now, so I don't think they'd allow us to install a reverse osmosis filter. Maybe another landlord would, but our current "landlord company" is so bad that they'd probably charge us if we had this installed. We're not renewing our lease next year...we are so over all of their shenanigans.
      We've heard great things about reverse osmosis filters, and I think it's wonderful that yours is even connected to your ice maker. Yay! We will definitely keep this in mind for the future. Thanks so much for watching! :)

I also have 5 kids, so it was very interesting to see what your family buys/likes :-) our monthly budget is just over $700 and also includes our household items/cleaners/diapers and wipes, etc... @classylifeboutique  Před 8 lety

      +Trinity Carpenter I haven't done a video like that yet, but I will if you're interested. :) I can put it on my schedule for later this month. Basically, though, because we don't buy a lot of junky snacks, the healthier foods tend to get eaten and not forgotten. We have very little waste in our home, and even leftovers don't last long with five kids. So because we don't buy a lot of sweet/salty snacks, when my kids are hungry and it's not mealtime, I tell them to grab an orange or a banana or tortilla chips. Thanks so much for stopping by my channel!

    how about getting a filter so you guys dont have to buy gallons of water? just curious since i was thinking it could be easier..

    • @classylifeboutique
      @classylifeboutique  Před 8 lety +4

      +professionalmartinez Thanks for the suggestion. We've had a filter on the faucet in the past, and we've also done Brita pitchers, etc... but the main reasons we buy water are because the city we live in has very hard water and because we try to avoid fluoride when/where we can. It's impossible to completely avoid fluoride 100%, because it's in the water that we cook with, wash clothes with, etc... but in order to consume less of it, we buy bottled spring water, which is actually pretty inexpensive.
      Someday, we'd like to be able to get a water filtration system that removes even fluoride from the water, but those are pretty expensive. Thanks for stopping by my channel. I hope you have a great week.

      If she cooks a single meal with a side of corn each week for 1 month and her family of 7 eats through 3 bags of corn in 1 dinner then 12 makes sense. Or maybe she cooks 2 meals with a side of corn a week and her family eats 1.5 bags of corn for a meal. Either way, I could see how she makes use of it.

    What is the Ph level of the water you buy. I saw a video where a man said water should be between 6.5 and 8.5. Three brands that were in that range were Desanti, Big 8, and Aquafina. The others, according to him, are acidic and will cause all kinds of medical problems. My husband tested our tap water and it came back at 6.9. So I am now buying Desanti and Aquafina and using our tap water. Just thought I'd mention that so that you can test the water you bought. My husband used our pool tester and if you don't have one perhaps a pool company could test your brand of water.

    • @classylifeboutique
      @classylifeboutique  Před 8 lety +8

      +Sophie Foster Thanks for stopping by my channel. I get a lot of questions about the water we buy. :) But basically, we live in an area that doesn't have great tap water. It's even problematic when it comes to cleaning our dishes with it. We've literally found one brand of dishwasher tabs that doesn't allow the water to leave terrible streaks on our dishes. Though, I do use it to cook with, like I'll use it to boil water for pasta. However, for soups and things like that, we still use bottled water.
      Also, we're trying to avoid fluoride as much as we can (avoiding it 100% is impossible), and since it's added right into the tap water, we prefer to drink bottled water instead. We are, however, looking into a water filtration system that removes a lot of the fluoride. We're hoping to possibly buy that system over the summer. :)

      +The Sensible Mom Not sure of the cost difference, but we used to go through bottled water like no one's business (we live in a bad water area as well) and we now use a water cooler and water delivery service. We love it and even if it was a little pricier, it's worth it not for me to have to lug gallons and gallons of water around (we lived in a second story apartment at the time). I'd also think it's a little "greener" since the 5 gallon bottles are just sanitized and reused. If you don't want to spend the money for the delivery service, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of places where you can refill your own 5 gallon jugs for like $.25 a gallon.

I've seen other people's Aldi hauls and seen organic products that our Aldi doesn't carry. Produce is also an issue at Aldi in our area.
