I was on my first ship when I was in the navy , and was working on some electronics with a civilian contractor. We visited about different things and he told me his son was in some band. He said the bands name was KISS , and wondered if I knew who they were. He was Eric Carr's (drummer in this vid) father. RIP Eric.

My brother and I wanted to see KISS in ‘80 or ‘81 ( I was 7 and my brother (10) and his friend across the street in Oklahoma wanted to go but, our folks wouldn’t let us. We would finally get our chance at the ‘96-‘97 Reunion Tour at McNichols Arena in Denver. My lasting memory is God of Thunder live. Man! That was awesome! We saw them one more time with Aerosmith. In 1978 when I was just 16 years old and living in Reading, Pennsylvania, I saw KISS for the first time. My girlfriend's parents drove us to the concert in Philadelphia to see them at the Spectrum. It was my first concert ever! The ticket was just $8.00 and I still have the ticket stub from the show! Over the next 40 years, I saw them 9 more times. Good stuff, iconic band. KISS - the band itself - (even after Gene & Paul pass away) will live on.

RIP Eric Carr. This song and Black Diamond are my favorite KISS songs. The Tank drum riser was freaking awesome at the concert. Was next to the stage and the girl on my shoulders caught one of Eric’s drum sticks after his drum solo. Gene took a drink out of a fifth of Jack Daniels we was passing back and forth. I think Vinnie Vincent was the lead guitarist on certain songs, and session guitarists played on other tracks. I actually think "Creatures" is *at least* as strong an album as "Lick It Up," even though very few people were paying attention to KISS when "Creatures" was released. Kiss uses a type of powder they apply to their makeup after they put it on that keeps them from sweating it off. If you find photo's of them in the first few years you'll see them with at least 1/2 their makeup sweated off at the end of their shows before they found and started using the powder. You should react to the biggest song for Gene Simmons "God of Thunder" If you can find a live version he normally spit the blood right before it. Also these are some Iconic Kiss songs and some of my Favorites and I've been a Fan since 1976.. "Shout it Out Loud" " Duece" "Beth" "Cold Gin" "Love Gun" "War Machine" I could keep going. 'I love it loud' was from Kiss' 1982 album 'Creatures of the night'... it was the last record before Kiss took the makeup off in 1983 for the 'Lick it up' album.
There was a lot of problems w/ Kiss in 1980... original drummer Peter Criss was out of the band... they hired drummer Eric Carr, who had a thunderous drum sound... but their last 2 albums had been disco-oriented records. Kiss recorded an album 'The Elder' in 1981 which was a very experimental record - Kiss trying to be Pink Floyd or Fleetwood Mac... and the album bombed commercially. Kiss' manager was let go as a result... and then lead guitarist Ace Frehley had a car accident, and announced he was leaving the band.
Kiss worked as a trio, recording a heavy rock 'Creatures of the night' and hoped it would bring back their rock fanbase after years of disappointment. Paul Stanley played most of the guitars, Eric Carr's drumming was unleashed... Gene Simmons was in peak form... They had to bring in session lead guitarists to play on the record. So even tho Ace Frehley is in the music video (and album cover), he had not played on the record and left after the album's release.
Kiss announced a North American tour for 'Creatures of the night' and lead guitarist Vinnie Vincent was hired... but the band had not toured the US in 3 years and their records were no longer selling like in the 70's... The shows they played were poorly attended and the tour was cancelled. On the other hand, Kiss played South America and they filled stadiums w/ fans singing the new songs... so they knew the music was good, but they realized it was this 'new' version of Kiss w/ makeup that was not selling in the States.
That was the reason Kiss took the makeup off in 1983 and they got on MTV and sold 1 million copies of 'Lick it up' in the US once again and drew thousands of fans on tour... In 1985, they re-released 'Creatures of the night' w/ a non-makeup cover and it sold a half million copies.
There r quite a few great songs on this album - 'Creatures of the night'... 'Danger'... 'I still love you'... 'War machine' (Gene Simmons on vocals)... 'Rock and roll hell' (Simmons on vocals) 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Been listening to Kiss since I was 7 in the 70’s. My older cousin got me into them and gave me all his albums ( which I still have) have been lucky enough to see them a bunch of times. The shows are amazing. Gene was always my favorite too. These guys have been so consistent in their career . The masters of Catchy songs and hits. Gene has some good ones he sings on but tops are Shout it out loud, God of Thunder and maybe less know but Not for the Innocent off slick it up is really cool. Kiss kicks ass.they’re pretty genius as well as good song writers.

Love KISS reactions. Would recommend checking out their songs "Live", as most of their songs are better live, particularly Rock 'N' Roll All Nite with it's solo that's only in the live version and not on the album version. Love Gun live is amazing, as well as Black Diamond and God of Thunder. Another great one that doesn't get a lot of love is their original closer Let Me Go Rock and Roll, which was eventually replaced by Rock 'N' Roll All Nite. It's a very different sounding KISS song. Some ballads to check out are of course Beth and Forever.

I had albums on 8 track and played it in the early morning, lunch, coming home from school, before dinner, and before bedtime. Yes, I played them that much every day. My parents was so sick of it that they bought a 24ft camper and put it in the 5 acre backyard and said "go play your loud music in there". Around age 8, I moved in that camper. Guys played cops n robbers or whatever typical....my friends and I played KISS concert. My favorite KISS song is COLD GIN. It was written by Ace Frehley but sung by Gene because Ace didn't think he was a good enough singer. I knew Jay would absolutely go nuts over this song, just like I did when I first heard it. "I Love It Loud" is one of the 5 greatest Kiss anthems of all time and one of the heaviest. The whole *Creatures Of The Night* album - majorly overlooked in its time - is absolute 🔥.
Coming-off of 2 major duds before it - *Unmasked* and *Music From 'The Elder'* - *Creatures Of The Night* has since has become realized as one of the 5 all-time greatest Kiss albums. You can see and hear all the reasons right in this video (as cheaply made as a typical 1982 video was): Heavy guitars, a snarling Gene lead vocal, ballsy gang vocals on the chorus, heavy guitars (more on that later) and absolutely thunderous drums.
Eager to rock back into America's hearts, Kiss made what was at the time their heaviest album. There are no bad songs on this entire album and most of the songs are actually great. Everyone was at the top of their game, especially still-new drummer Eric Carr who played like an absolute beast on this entire album. (I love Peter Criss, who will always have major nostalgic value for me, but as far as drummers are concerned, Eric Carr was by far superior.) Interestingly enough, they had also lost their original guitarist at this time. Yes, Ace mimed guitar in this video, but that was not him playing on the album. Vinnie Vincent, Kiss' replacement guitarist for Ace when he left the band, played the guitar solo on this and all the other songs on the album...and this is STILL a fuckin' great album. There is literally no song on this entire album that I don't recommend listening to. *Creatures Of The Night* is one of the very best all-time Kiss albums, and nobody even cared when it came-out.
