I don't understand how nearly every 'Reactor' is convinced to try the "one" KISS song, and album, that made me stop buying KISS albums. First KISS song should, IMO, always be one from their first album, like; Deuce 'or' Black Diamond - from the Live 1975 Midnight Special videos __ 100,000 Years __ Cold Gin __ Strutter. These are the songs that got most of us hooked back then.

I broke my teeth on KISS Alive 1 and 2 as a beginner guitarist. Never cared for their studio versions!!!! I was 19 when this song came out. I like this song alot! Gene Simmons (bass co vocals) loved science fiction,old horror movies,comic books.He became "The Demon" .Paul Stanley(guitar. co vocals) wanted to be a rock star from an early age "The Starchild".Ace Frehley (lead guitar) loved science fiction "The Spaceman". Peter Criss (drums) lived in a rough section of Brooklyn New York w/ gangs.He thought he had 9 lives.He liked cats "The Catman" They had theatrics & lots of pyro in their shows. Gene drooled fake blood & spit fire.Ace his guitar would smoke & catch fire. They did ballads & hard rock. "Beth" "Shout it out loud" .They took the make up off in the 80's.They just performed their last concert after 50 years last Saturday

I really enjoy you. Thanks! Yeah, this song was a double edged blade for KISS. It was one of their biggest hits but also one of their biggest mistakes. LOL! True! But, love it or hate it, there is one common factor that everyone loves... Ace Frehley playing that ICONIC Gibson Les Paul "Disco Ball" gold flashy guitar. Dimebag Darrell from Pantera had a tattoo of Ace Frehley. I have a tattoo of Dimebag. Its the family unit that holds us all together. Music is a family!
Because a lot of people reacted to this song by calling it disco when it's clearly just a catchy ROCK song (no matter WHAT Paul MAY have claimed), doesn't mean the song was one of KISS's mistakes. IMO, their only real mistake was taking the lunch box, comic book, KISS doll marketing too far. It caused many people to view them as a band who made music geared toward kids when of course they didn't. Or it at least make that mental connection on some level when they thought of KISS. And it probably accounts for all of the KISS aren't very good "musicians" nonsense.
You had the same reaction to Gene Simmons as most Gene fans. lol He was really good looking back in the day and had a magnetic personality. I was a Paul fan (still am).
