ACA 500 is the best. When i pick up a heavy cutting compound, im always going to do a finishing stage with a finishing polish and soft pad. I want maximum cut and the least defects left behind. I dont care about the finish at this stage, its all about getting the most defects out.

I know years later but I tend to use the 3D for more Rotary work then DA as its main purpose is to level sice your gonna have to do a step or two either way. Sonax on the other hand has a longer work time in my experience but doesnt fully impress me on the finish. Griots on the other hand is spot on to what you described. Two product I like to see is Koch Chemie and Oberk. Fantastic video with all the diffrent methods

@@user-un5my5bw4j- I finally tried the ACA500 on those Rupes Coarse Blue Wool pads and was blown away. I've been using the LA HDO MF Cutting, or Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber (I find the Uro-Fiber to cut harder of the two) with great results, but those Rupes wool coarse pads blew me away.
It's like they were made to gp together.
I stumbled upon the combo when I had trouble removing sanding marks from painted plastics. With the microfiber pads combined with 3D ONE / ACA500, it did absolutely nothing. Switched to an Adam's Wool pad and it was a night and day difference. So I purchased the Rupes pads and after some testing, they are my new go-to for extreme cutting. I'll probably use them with 3D ONE for basic cutting, but when I need the big guns, I'll pair them with the ACA500.
      Great combo.

Useful and informative as always Sandro...I completely agree with your results but after many hours of experiencing German compounds these are my thoughts in general:(correct me if i am wrong 🙄)
1.German compounds love ROTARY.(I think German engineers keep rotary action in mind all the time when making these compounds)
    2.German compounds love WOOL.
3.German compounds are not meant to be used as one stage correction, they always need to be proceeded with finishing polish.
In future try Koch Chemie H8o2 if you have time.I would be very glad to hear your experience about that one.

    • @c6z061
      @c6z061 Před 5 lety +1

Totally agree about the German compounds being designed about around a rotary. They will still work with a DA, but they were not designed for them. Best bet with DA polishes would be to go with Rupes or Griot's BOSS polishes, as they were based on using a DA.

Is the micro-marring in the finish with the Sonax just a result of a more aggressive compound? I don't usual expect to finish on a compound, though it's neat to see what a some of these actually finish out to. I'm thinking perhaps they just give up cutting aggression in exchange for a better finish.

You do understand the sonomax and 3D your testing are not finishing compounds right? Ofcoarse Griots is going to show a cleaner finish and wipe off easier, afterall it doesn't have near as aggressive abrasives in it as the two other step one compounds

Sandro do you offer detailing courses and what is the cost?

      Awesome mate.
I have polished my car with a da polisher and have a decent understanding of paint correction from watching all of your videos this year.
I would come to melbourne probably for 1 course only, if it was Sydney id attend all of them.
Would the advanced paint correction course be too much for me?
Or maybe bettee the paint correction + coatings?

Thanks mate, basically exactly what that course offers, paint correction and also the coatings. Will try to make it to a course first half of next year. thanks. Wish you were in Sydney. @@CarCraftAutoDetailing

I bought 2 bottles recently and tried opening it today and its impossible. The instructions say push down and twist but I haven't managed to, and I have a good grip. @@CarCraftAutoDetailing

i cant udenderstand why use the same aplication process if you are using diferents compounds, maybe on some you are using too much and over lubricate the pad there your faulty result or you are using too little and again,do a pass that can not be measure correctly,i think every one of them should receive the recomend quantity of aplication and please, dont put those products on the middle of the pad if you are using a random orbital polisher!!!!

The problem is that you are the only one that believes GRIOTS is better than the SONAX. Pretty funny. I try the GRIOTS and I didn’t like it at all. First GRIOTS is too liquid and leave deep holograms.
