Your tutorial was so clear, understandable and (doable for us mortals?) fun to do! Ingenious use of the throwing stick! Can’t wait to attempt this. Thanks so much.
LOVED this video, thanks so much! I had no idea I could stamp a freshly thrown pot like that and I happen to have the cutest roller I have no yet used. Thanks for the inspiration!
Yay!!! I'm going to try this on my pot I just threw!! Had to find this video to refresh my memory:) I already have one in my water, that's the only thing I remembered 🤣!!
Ohhh!!! My new favorite channel!!! Put the rollers in water 😱🤯This is gonna be good. I'm only a couple mins into this!!! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your knowledge 🙏🏻
@@JohnHasegawaCeramics Wow! Thank you so much, I would love to see you teach us a closed form, with a lid. I didn't see one of those on your videos:) That's my suggestion/request. Thank you🙏🏻

I really need to stop watching videos while I'm waiting for clay or glaze to dry. I rationalize it as continuing education. Deep down, I know it is just feeding my quarts/feldspar addiction. It's like a never ending cycle. For every project I cross off my list, 15 more show up. I'm guess I just have to keep plugging away till I learn better. 🙃
Wonderful tutorial! Thanks a lot:) By the way, all the stamps you are using are wooden. I have resin 3d printer at home, I wonder if resin ones could work the same as you are using?
I am so happy you enjoyed the video. I am using the HR-060 HandRoller-Topographic. Here is the link to the MKM website for the roller mkmpotterytools.com/product/hr-060-handrollers-topographic/
Have you ever tried holding the stamp verticle instead of horizontal and applying it while the wheel is spinning slowly. Applying pressure with a rib on the inside. Might have a cool effect.
This was the best tutorial EVER!! You’re such a fantastic teacher. I can’t believe this is free 🙏🏼
Stunning tutorial! Thank you for your knowledge.

It is so much fun! There might be ceramics classes in your area. Never too late to start a ceramics class.

Excellent, and I have neither heard about or seen a potter's stick.
I am glad you enjoyed the video. There are so many little tricks to help us make better pottery.
Nice!
Who else thought he was going to hold the roller vertically and spin the table as it rolled around the cup? Lol he’s a great teacher btw!
Thank you. I have seen others do it around the cup but I just could not get the hang of doing it that way. I learned the up and down way first.
Muchas gŕacias.
very helpful video.
Glad it was helpful!
Very wonderful class
Many thanks

thanks for that i was wondering how i could add pattern to a wheel thrown mug!
It is way easier than it looks. Give it a try, it is an awesome skill to have.

Wher do you buy the roller stamps?
Wonderful tutorial! Thanks a lot:) By the way, all the stamps you are using are wooden. I have resin 3d printer at home, I wonder if resin ones could work the same as you are using?
I have not used a resin stamp for this, but is should work. Try it out and tell me how it goes. I would love to know.
I think you have to some corn starch with the resin stamps. The corn starch will burn off when fired.
Thank you for the tutorial. What is the number for the MKM roller? I found TW-16 but the roller in the video looks larger.

I have tried that and could not make it work. I have seen many potters do it very well but it never worked for me.

Did you make the throwing stick yourself?
That stick was made by a wood working friend that was one of my pottery students.
