    This is Loredana who has a automatic test coming up soon, she came to us to do a mock test to see if she is ready or not. She has done 40 hours of lessons with her instructor and has been driving her own car with her partner to get more experience. The Mock Test was done in her own car and she will be doing her test in her own car too.
    The mock test results in a fail and had this been his actual test it would have most likely resulted with the test being terminated because of the amount of serious and dangerous faults.
    We suggest he does more lessons to fix these faults.
    In the video the text colour would mean:
    GREEN: GOOD POINTS
    AMBER: ADVISORY AND MINOR FAULTS
    RED: SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS FAULTS
    These videos are designed to show you mistakes and how to fix them.

    I don't see why people give such bad rap to people who choose to do automatic. It's like saying I could have a smart phone but I'm choosing to have a Nokia 3310 with no smart features. Why make things harder than they need to be... cars will all be going automatic it's the way tech is evolving just look at the electric cars.

      @@shiapeyton-king6671 it's not getting half a license... driving from a to b in an automatic car is no different to a manual it still gets you there and unless you specifically need to drive a manual ie... for future work purposes then it's not going to make a difference to some one.

      Honestly you should learn and pass in a manual. It's harder but it will make you a better driver and it will mean you CAN drive manuals too if e.g. you need to rent/borrow a car. It will also mean your options for buying are HUGE compared to if you're only qualified for auto. Assuming you're in the UK, that is.
      Honestly my next car will be an electric and so it won't even have gears, but I bought a manual when I was learning so I wouldn't be limited.

      @@xMandalorex I know, I used to work for a rental company. I also know they're much rarer, even in rentals, and that they cost more to buy and maintain as they're generally less reliable. The future is not automatic, the future is electric, with no gearbox at all.
      My point still stands though. Something like 90+% of cars on the road in the UK are manual, so if you're a) buying used cars (you'd be mad not to unless you're loaded) or b) likely to borrow or use other peoples' cars for personal use, rental or for work, learning manual is much smarter, because you can then use BOTH. If you learn automatic, then all your choice becomes much more restricted and expensive. It does also make you a better driver, because it requires you to be more engaged with driving, with one hand on the wheel and the other ready to change gears.
      My next car won't have a gearbox, because it will be electric. My current one has manual transmission and there's no way I'd swap it for an auto.

    Why do people think just cause your driving a automatic it’ll be easier to pass? Driving isn’t the problem it’s the observation and how you handle yourself on the road. Automatic just makes it easier to focus on the road and not the driving itself. Period🤣🤣.

    • @xxxmickyxxx3
      @xxxmickyxxx3 Před 3 lety +33

      I think it's because with manual you have the added part where you have to know how to handle the car too. Clutch control, handling gear changes for example is a massive thing when driving manually and it is easy to get faults from mistakes that only can happen in a manual and not an automatic. Whilst yes observations are key, driving manual I think is harder as you have to think about more when driving which is why people say that automatic easier hence more likely to pass.

    • @Sly94
      @Sly94 Před 3 lety +4

      Pretty much, an automatic is so easy to drive that people relax and stop making observations and doing proper maneuvers. They just stick it in drive and put their foot down, rule book goes out the window and no care in the world because they now think the car will handle every situation by itself. Having gears to deal with forces people to slow down and actually think about things instead of just absentmindedly putting their foot down and getting instant power.
      Look at the comparison of road fatalities by country, all of the countries with predominantly manual drivers have the lowest fatalities. All of the countries with predominantly automatic cars have so many fatalities that they are similar to third world countries that don't even have proper tarmac roads or modern cars.

    12.55 The examiner has selected a specific alley for the forward bay park. It should be noted you are heading towards the main shop entrance and the closer you get the busier it will be. You can choose a right or left hand side bay. Those on the right typically give an easier wider swing in. If you are not perfect on bay parking you may know your weakness is left/right between the lines or going too deep into the bay ahead. Candidate chooses a bay with a low hedge and kerb ahead so cannot go too deep and end up in the bay beyond as there is not one there. She misjudges left/right. If she had a bay ahead left/right is easier to judge as you can see the side lines of the bay beyond. Alternatively picking a bay with a parked car in the bay beyond can also help, if it is centrally parked you can line up on the car itself.

It doesn't matter if there are 1,000,000 manual learners compared to 10,000 automatic learners, the overall numbers are entirely irrelevant. I don't wish to be rude, but you know how percentages work, right?

      Romans 6.23
      For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
      John 3:16-21
      16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
      Mark 1.15
      15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
      2 Peter 3:9
      The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
      Hebrews 11:6
      6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

    Great video. I noticed a bit of confusion in the comments concerning the use of the handbrake in an automatic car. Would you be able to clarify when this would be used during a test? For example when asked to pull over to the left would you be expected to apply the handbrake and put the gear selector in Park? What would the procedure be for bay parking? I didn’t see any hills on this video, however, had the driver stopped on a hill would they be expected to apply the handbrake then? If so would they keep their foot on the foot brake as well and keep the gear selector in drive? I know most qualified drivers of autos rarely use the handbrake other than when the vehicle is parked, and some don’t even use it then, instead relying on leaving the gear selector in park.
    Maybe you could do a small video on the use of the handbrake, neutral and park when driving an automatic car?
    Keep up the good work.

      Depends what your plans are for after you pass. If you are likely to drive a range of vehicles for work, borrow other people's cars or rent a lot of cars then manual makes more sense because you can drive manuals and automatics. If you are only going to drive your own car and rarely rent a car then automatic would be easier and you'll pass sooner.
