      had my 5th lesson the other day and stalled on a hill (first ever time stalling) i then did an excellent (instructors words not mine) hill start pulling out onto a main road. got followed by the guy behind me for a few miles just driving up my ass the whole time, to then pull infront of me and break check me, then speed off. i dont mind people beeping because it lets me know whats going on, but that stuff that driver pulled on me yesterday, is just too far.

    8:00 If only he had gone past the car on the left and parked somewhere convenient thereafter. He gave himself the problem of an acute angle to move off at parking close behind a parked car which will take a lot longer than a straight move off. The road seems to run at four cars wide but an angled move off makes your vehicle significantly wider. A busy road like this, it's a lot easier to move off straight with acceleration from a clearer spot.

    What are the correct answers to checking to see if your brake lights are working properly? The only ways I can think of is, looking into a reflection of a window or another vehicle and see if your both brake lights illuminate or ask somebody to check for you. What I used to do is, I used to use my window ice scraper and move my seat all the way forward and wedge the ice scraper between the seat and brake pedal, and that is how I used to check if my brake lights were both working.

      Hi, So firstly NEVER rely on the satnav shown speed, as speed limits of roads change constantly and always look out for speed signs and road markings. With speed humps the that stretch from one side of the road to other side without any breaks the speed is usually 20mph. Speed humps that have breaks in between them can be 20mph or 30mph and you should look out for speed signs to know the speed; if there are no signs and there are street lights the speed limit is 30mph. Hope this helps

    4:05 no serious fault? That would be an Serious infraction in the US, in fact if Police saw it, you could get a citation for failure to yield. Turning onto road while Pedestrians are crossing it. In US crossing must be completely clear of pedestrians before proceeding. Pedestrians always have the right of way once crossing the road, even if they aren't crossing it legally themselves. Also where you told him to parallel park 27:15 from the video looked like a Driveway?

    • @nobbynobbynoob
      @nobbynobbynoob Před 4 lety

      Looks fine to me. Yes, the driver must give way to pedestrians there (Highway Code, §CLXX), but he did.

    • @jasminejackson3485
      @jasminejackson3485 Před 4 lety +4

      well first of all the pedestrians weren't on an actual pedestrian crossing. he didnt cause any danger to them and still gave way. if it was a proper crossing he would have to stop but it wasnt.

    • @tf51d
      @tf51d Před 4 lety

      @@jasminejackson3485 Look again, the median has a lowered curb indicating it's meant for pedestrian vehicle crossings such as Bikes (One is currently in the median here) , WheelChairs, Baby Carriages. In addition the pedestrians in front was still on the street when the turn was started and no apparent attempt to slow down. As I stated, it doesn't matter if the Pedestrian is crossing legally or not, they still have the right of way. Now to be fair, I see this violated everyday in the real world, but this video is in the context of a Driving Test, and the inspector would surely ding the driver for it.

    • @WamoAR
      @WamoAR Před 4 lety +3

      tf51d If it was a zebra crossing then yes he would have to give way but that was just a normal pedestrian crossing so they have to give way to the cars. Also with the parallel parking the examiner tells you that you don’t have to worry about driveways while doing the manoeuvre
