In Estonia when i was doing my driving exam, i actually almost never did any looking over the shoulder at all. Just looked in the mirrors, and one hand reverse( the one time when i actually looked over a shoulder) and this was absolutely okay, not a mistake here. Because exams here are to test your skills in a real life driving situation. And almost no one actually does all that ridiculous checkings as in UK exams. 🤣

If you keep your nervousness in control, it will be a usual driving lesson. Keep a good gesture on your face as well.
I had about 3-4 tests in total, all the times I had 'nice/kind' looking examiners I failed. I had some grumpy looking guy and he turned out to be the kindest (I also passed with him). So don't worry if your examiner looks evil!

I remember watching this video the night before my first test at 3am and I passed first time with 2 minors. For those doing the same, as long as you can drive well and comfortably with a family member, you can do the same with an instructor
You call that engaging? I actually talked about movies and food with my examiner i passed with. I failed with the silent ones, passed with the talkative one. It helps reduce the nerves and it feels like a normal driving lesson and so you are less tense, and it's just like any other drive.

Fun fact, killing a cat wouldn't fail you your test, they are considered vermin. You could run over 50 as long as you drive fine you wont fail but you must stop for dogs.

I remember my driving test. The instructor was talking with the other dude just about his girlfriend who was getting sick from milk and only can drink lactose free milk. So the driving test ended at a supermarket where he picked up milk and I passed the test. lol

Just passed my test after the 2nd attempt, you were very lucky to have such a nice tester, both my testers were very strict, only passed the 2nd time because I drove very well, shows the mood of the tester can have a big influence on the outcome of the test, not saying you didn't deserve to pass, you drove very well here 👍
If you're about to take your test dont take this example in the video as a standard to achieve. This driver was clearly very good, you dont need to be this good, the instructors expect you to be a novice, espeically when it comes to speed of doing things and clutch control. Ofcourse you should be as good as you can be. But dont get overly nervous if you're not as good as the person in the video.
Dude, novice level is not enough here in Norway. In order to pass the test you need to be pretty much flawless in your driving. Always stay exactly on the speed limit, and no mentionable mistakes. It also lasts for 1 fucking hour and your examiner is a complete dick 8/10 times. That's why i consider to find a way around this stupid system

Almost passed, but i pulled the keys out of the ignition while going 70 on the Motorway; totalled the car, killed the instructor and a family camper with 3 children and a married couple. Now apparently that’s ‘MaNsLuaGhtEr’ but last time i checked, that wasn’t on the instructors checklist. So unfair.

I remember my driving test. The instructor was talking with the other dude just about his girlfriend who was getting sick from milk and only can drink lactose free milk. So the driving test ended at a supermarket where he picked up milk and I passed the test. lol

watched this yesterday, passed today! Even after 6 years the test is practically the same, i was much less confident id say but still passed! Once the test starts, time flies so fast, and those eating those rescue drops/ pastilles helped reduce anxiety! Good luck to everyone and thanks Seb for this vid !!!!

I had the hardest ass old man, ex cop of a driver instructor. He was like "You answer with 'yes, sir'" "dont give me an attitude" "we can stop this here if you want". I was shocked that he passed me, and he was all smiles with my parents afterwards lol

Just passed my test after the 2nd attempt, you were very lucky to have such a nice tester, both my testers were very strict, only passed the 2nd time because I drove very well, shows the mood of the tester can have a big influence on the outcome of the test, not saying you didn't deserve to pass, you drove very well here 👍

If you're about to take your test dont take this example in the video as a standard to achieve. This driver was clearly very good, you dont need to be this good, the instructors expect you to be a novice, espeically when it comes to speed of doing things and clutch control.
Ofcourse you should be as good as you can be. But dont get overly nervous if you're not as good as the person in the video.

Dude, novice level is not enough here in Norway. In order to pass the test you need to be pretty much flawless in your driving. Always stay exactly on the speed limit, and no mentionable mistakes. It also lasts for 1 fucking hour and your examiner is a complete dick 8/10 times. That's why i consider to find a way around this stupid system

I like how this examiner starts a bit of conversation during waiting periods such as when stopped at the temporary lights to try and calm any nerves and help relax the tension a bit
He is the most friendly examiner ever!

learning to drive has got to be one of the biggest rip-offs ever. £20 pound a lesson and £100 per test
Jake McGrath hahaha, its cheap over seas i can see, its €45-50 per lesson and €250 per driving test, plus another 100 or so for the theorie exam, i had 25 lessons, theorie exam and final exam for €1380.. kinda expensive, but did everything in one go

For me it's only £26 per hour lesson, the Theory and Hazard Perception test I remember it was about £40 and the practical is £60
this made me feel so anxious
I accidentally pushed on the brake too hard and the instructor flew through the front windscreen of the car but luckily I corrected myself so he didn't notice.
Almost passed, but i pulled the keys out of the ignition while going 70 on the Motorway; totalled the car, killed the instructor and a family camper with 3 children and a married couple. Now apparently that’s ‘MaNsLuaGhtEr’ but last time i checked, that wasn’t on the instructors checklist. So unfair.
That examiner was really nice and down to earth.
That instructors voice is so soothing I might just make a soundtrack of it to listen to at night to fall asleep.
I watched your video years ago and two months ago I passed my test I was channeling your demeanor and calmness in this video.
I still love watching this video 8 years later. Super relaxing, fun to watch and shows that there's no need to be nervous for the test.
