      As a fat guy just starting to workout, that shit is real. About a month into weight training for the first time ever, and I can barely bench press 90lbs for sets in the 8-12 range, but my leg press for sets is already at 500lbs. Fat guy legs are a real thing, apparently I've been training these hams for decades 😆

    I used to compete internationally in Taekwondo and practiced in other martial arts - although micro loading was not a thing during my competitive days, we did use progressive weight training and plyos to increase our power and overall stability and resistance to the concussive nature of the sport. This product makes 100% sense to me - to be able to perform the sport specific movements in real time with weight distributed evenly without impeding the movement is priceless - you could use a heavier weighted vest but then the mechanics of the movement are not the same - the form you are trying to perfect is skewed. During practice we would easily perform 1,000 kicks of one type (a round kick per se) the slight overload provided by such a product would not break the development of the form we are perfecting while providing distributed resistance. This is not a product for gaining mass or increasing absolute strength but a tool to ek out power and strengthening sport specific movement. Still, I can see this as a benefit for those who would prefer body weight workouts, hit or any such movement needing resistance without the form breaking restrictions of heavier cumbersome vests. The downside is this product is pricey- I don’t know if this is for people who are trying to get the most bang for your buck and variability with home training equipment.

      Real MAG grips offer different grip rotation positions from semi supination to semi pronation, with a little bit of wrist flexion for better grip.
      Knock off versions are all neutral grips but with different degree of wrist flexion, which is pointless.

I was interested in the idea of microloaded vest-i.e. extra 'oomph' for sprints, trail running, HIIT, etc. training. Thank you for the review! OMORPHO should reduce the crazy price on the vest or keep as is and have option of adding on more micro-weights!

    I kinda like the idea of the weight being loaded down the arms and legs rather than just wearing a vest. No idea how beneficial it is, and I'm not spending all the money to find out, but I kinda compare it to holding those egg weights when you shadow box. Really light weight but they are killer after a short amount of time. I would have to think the weight being on your arms and legs would have a similar effect, rather than just running with a weight vest. Although you could do both, wear the long sleeve shirt, and leggings, with a heavier vest.

    • @kft4764
      @kft4764 Před rokem +2

      Distributed weight definitely advantages over concentrated weight like a weight vest. The weights that these clothes add are so minuscule I have a lot of doubt about whether they do anything at all though. The long sleeve shirt and pants only add 0.5lb to each limb, distributed along the entire length of the limb. I'd wager that'd be as noticeable as wearing a watch, ie not very noticeable.

    Microloading is verifiable for strength and muscle mass gains, just not sure if a real study has been done. Look at obese people, they essentially do long term progressive microloading on their calves, and across almost all other variable demographics, heavier people have bigger and stronger calf muscles to support that weight. If you walk 1000 steps a day with an extra 3 pounds on, that's 3000lbs your calves moved vs what they would move without the extra 3 pounds. If you're also adding that to your normal calf routine, it adds up. Let's say you do calves 2x a week on leg days, 5 sets of 20, with double your bodyweight of 200lbs. That's 80,000lbs lifted between the 2 days, spread across the 2 feet evenly, so 40k lbs a week per foot. If you wear an extra 2.3lbs for 5,000 steps a day(just more than average for americand), every day, that's 80,500lbs moved total, or 40,250 per foot. This effectively doubles the calf load volume per week, and is literally why bigger people tend to have massive calves(aside from the fatty tissue)

    I don't think micro loading is useful unless you are doing some kind of constant state cardio. Like maybe walk for an hour or wear this while playing a VR exercise game might MIGHT be slightly beneficial. I know I can put on something as low as 2.5 lbs on my wrists and play beat saber for an hour and the next day my shoulders feel like I did an hour workout. I don't really think it is putting on any mass though. Just getting that "farmer strength" from long term isometric stress.

    The people who watch Coop are into actual fitness. We lift weights - heavier the better. I carry around my 63 lb weight vest for literal hours, for fun. We are not the audience for this... product. Rich normies that want to pretend like they're training are this company's intended market and in that regard they might just play on some insecurities well enough to make decent money, but the weight is laughable for anyone that trains regularly.

    I think Omorpho is marketing to the wrong demographic honestly. Not much weight is needed to elicit an increase in bone density, especially with something like this that is seemingly well distributed over the body.
    So, who should be wearing this?
    Older adults that are trying to either prevent bone density loss or those rehabilitating after an injury.
    OR
    Youth athletes. The reason being the most youth athletes don't possess sound enough form for loaded jumps or really any dynamic movement that even slightly alters their center of gravity. BUT if you could evenly distribute the load throughout their plyometric workouts and sprint sessions, not only would they be getting the benefits of increased bone density for later on in their lives but the ability for additional load to be effectively used in their performance gains.
    The company is focused on the wrong side of the fitness spectrum. These garments would be perfect for young beginners as their bodies are primed for neurological and performance stimuli and for older adults trying to maintain bone density while taking their morning walk.
