Problem with other singers is they don't have her power. And Carrie trusts her vocals will be there. Other singers use props to distract you from realizing they don't have the vocal power.
@robert gardell untrue pink does have the vocals and she does Olympic level gymnastics while she sings. The shade being cast on others isn't necessary, Carrie is awesome on her own.

You notice how Carrie made sure that choir shined, by letting them sing the chorus and she even turn around to encourage them. You could tell they were nervous backing her up and they calmed when Carrie turn around and looked at them.
