I'm loving Dave's timely pauses lately. With the comedy reactions he's really got down when the bit is turning the corner, and pauses to let the Blokes all discuss the previous part. That is great for a reaction channel.

“The colored folks been singing it and playing it just like I’m doin' now, man, for more years than I know. They played it like that in their shanties and in their juke joints and nobody paid it no mind 'til I goosed it up. I got it from them. jtim83 what makes you think your retrospective apologist version of history is right? You think blacks didn’t steal anything music related? Recorded music only goes back a few decades before Elvis. Where did blacks get their guitar from? Hmm! The only reason black music is even considered worth stealing today is because Elvis made it valuable! He broke down the barrier that got white peoples wanting to hear that style. Which he did through his looks, talents, personality, and charisma! Which all black artist today benefit from because 90% of their revenue and sales is from white people! The music Elvis “stole” was already a mixture of many cultures! Just because you got dooped into giving blacks credit for everything doesn’t make it so! Everything created was inspired by someone else who was inspired by someone else. Building on what others have done! Trying to bastardize that fact to give credit to someone because their race who didn’t do anything is what I would expect by an indoctrinated person! You are the type that claims we shouldn’t celebrate Columbus because he didn’t discover America. Ignoring the fact we celebrate his for what HIS discovered led to not because he was first. Nothing come of any other discovery that matters. So as a history major I reject your woke nonsense!

@@dperry203 Huh? It was a well established practice to rerecord black music with white artists. Like word for word. If the song was done by a black person, theyd leave them off the cover because it “wouldnt sell”. This isnt revisionist history. Its 100% fact. Thats how this whole cultural appropriation business started. It was based on blatant exploitation. Nowadays people cry wolf.
They purposely suppressed black music. Which wasnt happening in the UK so artists like the Rolling Stones were shocked that certain artists weren’t household names. This continued for decades even with successful acts.
Here is David Bowie criticizing MTV for not playing black artists and look at their answer:

@@dperry203 Lol at you bringing up Christopher Columbus. Do you know how many civilizations existed in North America/South America? Do you think the Mayans and the Incas werent anything? Guess the mass genocide was when the “discovery” needed to be counted, right? LMAO. Your education system failed you.
Literally people during that time were disturbed at what was happening. You should read “A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies” by a Spanish Priest in 1542. Its horrifying how the victors changed the narrative.

Zu Mu you having trouble reading? I just said we celebrate him because he lead directly to the American society we have today. Which is why we cared when they thought he was first. First was never the reason for celebrating! There is a reason we don’t count the natives they have nothing to do with today’s world!
They didn’t want to record with a black artist because the public wouldn’t buy it genus! Elvis changed that for black artists! These are facts you can’t deny! Chuck Berry got big over night because of Elvis! He got air play and did shows he was never able to get before! Once white people listened to Elvis they had no real excuse not to like the music! Not to mention Elvis did a lot for blacks people. He was very supportive of blacks when the world wasn’t! Which is huge from the most influential person in the world at the time! Something you want to ignore to push your nonsense!
