Very excited for the Croatian commemorative coin, but I just checked out our mint's and central banks' websites and the only news I found listed was that the mint is looking for a new member of the board 😂
I don't doubt that we'll get a new coin soon. When we had the kuna, they regularly put out the special 25 kuna coins.
Yeah, it could be a non-circulating commemorative coin on a unique denomination to Croatia - maybe a €3 coin as 25 Kunas was worth roughly €3......although never too late for a €2 commemorative
@Eire Euro Coins We did have a nifc gold and sliver coin worth 4,000€ release a few months ago. Imo it's quite ugly 😅. But who knows, the 25 kuna ones had a lot of interesting designs. Maybe we'll continue the tradition with 25 euro dodecagon coins.
With you buying all new commemorative coins the moment they are released I guess soon you will stop doing the hunts? Because the chance of finding something new in those will be close to zero like this. You are taking the fun out of the hunts like this 😉
It is something I have been thinking about alright. I don't enjoy them as much as I did when I started. I rarely get anything new, even German mintmarks now. The best I am hoping for now is finding the new irish commemorative coins and a Croatian €2 ‐ after that, I don't know. Anyway, with buying coins, at least I get shiny UNC ones!!!! 😅
Makes sense, there is no point in the hunts really if you never find anything new anymore. Shame though, they are always fun to watch! So better stop buying and keep hunting! 🤣
