It's weird that we never got a "Siege" version of Jazz? I guess you can used the Origin version to go with the Siege/ WFC collection or the SS for Earthrise collection too?
If I were to guess, I think maybe the line's more mature aesthetic probably led to him not being put in, considering he's a very light hearted character that wouldn't fit in with the dark tone of Siege Especially the Netflix trilogy, though he probably would've made it 100 times more bearable if he was in it
That specific gift set repaint of RTS Jazz is probably my favorite single Jazz toy in my 60+ figure Jazz collection. Something about the colors chosen plus all the awesomeness of the RTS mold is just pure perfection for me. However, the new boxed set Jazz is probably the closest a figure has come to dethrone it for me. Right now he’s sitting on my shelf and I’m just constantly in awe of how good he looks. It really is like he just walked straight off screen.
It is an impressive translation of screen to toy, but IMO the end result is a plain and boring toy. RTS Jazz for me every time! I'd rather have a toy that I enjoy looking at.
I was initially put off by RTS Jazz's weird chest too before having it in hand, but I was surprised to see It's an incredibly easy fix. If you apply joint tightener to certain parts of the automorph mechanism it adds enough friction to prevent the chest from moving even if you don't hold it down and transformation isn't impacted at all. Ankle tilt aside, and the chest fixed he's basically the perfect Jazz for me since I tend to lean more to stylization over cartoon accuracy for G1 designs. Plus hearing about the studio series Jazz's roof made me steer as clear away from it as possible.
@@MilesDashing I instinctively tend to hold figures by the chest whenever I'm posing them, so when I actually had it in hand, I can't really say it was much of an issue for me either. I just did the fix to see if it was possible for the hell of it, and it turned out it was.
Man you made me realize I have so many different versions of Jazz. I like the FoC but it's still in the package. Almost all are except the G2 one I have. Lol
RTS Jazz was my comfort toy for a while. I missed him in stores somehow, and was really happy when I got him for a reasonable price on eBay. I prefer the door-wing look, even though it's not toon-accurate. Mine is hard to keep snapped together in car mode, which is why I eventually cracked his windshield. I guess he's the murdered version from the attack on the shuttle now.
Jazz is my favorite character and yet my main jazz is the power of the primes one and my other jazz is the fall of Cybertron jazz. I need to get myself a better jazz figure
86 jazz if you want g1 earthmode jazz. I have several versions of him. Can't go wrong getting the 86 mold in its various paint schemes and origins jazz
Generations has the best Jazz design. It needs an update. I hear they used the RID15 as a base line for Legacy Cyberverse Windblade. if they can do that for Generations Jazz, I'd so get it.
Power of the primes Jazz was the first figure I got when I started officially collecting. I’m glad you like him though because I literally threw mine away💀
RTS is still my favorite, Never knew the speakers could combine with the gun. Blasting memes got me pretty good. Really excited to get the Gen Selects 86 Jazz as I never got the SS, but I do have the Knockout iteration which I think is still pretty great. Honorable mentions. Animated Jazz. Also I remember Cybertron Crosswise getting the Jazz treatment at a point.
Ah another Jazz Band! Since Rise of the Beast, I've been more accepting of Jazz variants. I have Animated, SS86, Mirage (aka Jive), Ricochet and PotP. I've been working on an intro music video for the bunch to Chainlink Charge but haven't found a version I'm happy with. I was thinking about adding a WFC Jazz, but what you said made me think twice.
I have a soft spot for power of the primes Jazz too :D, he may have flaws but he isn’t so so bad. The alt mode is a beaut and the robot mode is pretty cool once the looseness is dealt with. I respect your opinion on him though. Awesome video as always

For the PoP one, it happened to me the same as you, it was my first “G1” style Jazz and I was craving one for a while, so I had to get it as soon as it was released. Now that I have the 86 and the box set ones… poor pop jazz is replaced… even if mine is not yellowing when others did
I like all of them for different reasons. RTS/2010 is still my display Jazz. Unfortunately I had the first release SS86 Jazz and he’s as durable as a wet tissue. I have the G2 Dorito Jazz and I adore him. PotP I like because I use him as Masquerade Optimus’s limb. And then there’s the Origins. My god. What a solid figure. Probably one of my favorites from 2023. The stupid alt mode is still charming as heck and both modes are SOLID. I don’t know what black sorcery Mark Maher did to create a perfect Jazz toy but damn I want some of that juice.
And now we have another gift set 86 Jazz with the upcoming Autobot Headquarters 😅. POTP Jazz was the first Jazz I ever had; even with all the joint tightening I had to do, there’s a soft spot in my heart for that one, kinda like that “comfort toy” feel you described. SS86 Jazz has since replaced him as my definitive G1 Jazz, and I ended up donating his upper legs to Gen Selects Ricochet since my copy came in with a rusting knee pin that I couldn’t quite fix.
You can sandwich the top of the gun between the shins in vehicle mode, letting the back of the car balance on the gun handle and making it look like it hovers, it also means the paint on the shins won't be damaged
since they are into concept stuff, and even tho we didnt see em on screen, I could go with a slight retool of this mold to give us an Origins Prowl & Bluestreak.
Origins Jazz has that really-well-designed shellformer thing that I both hate because it's a shellformer and love because it's a really-executed shellformer. I waited for him to go on sale and then he never did. Sad face. I do live in TO, though, so if you do happen to see him on sale....
RTS was an amazing figure and one of the last I bought from Kmart for Christmas. Recently got the five pack version and it’s leagues better than my original copy which was already pretty rickety.
I've got a shelf that I use for special "group poses". I've got Buzzworthy OriJazz standing with Legacy Soundwave and 35th Anniversary Optimus and Megatron to recreate the Knights of Unicron band from Aligned. They're all using their weapons as their instruments
@MilesDashing back in the WFC/FoC era, they released a box set of Optimus, Megatron, Jazz, and Soundwave with extra accessories that made them look like a parody of the band KISS, called The Knights of Unicron. I believe that they are the ones that canonically wrote "You've Got The Touch" and "Instruments of Destruction" in-universe. So now I've recreated this set with new modern figures, and I'm calling it their "Knights of Unicron SIEGE (and Buzzworthy!) reunion tour"
Jazz is one of my favorite Autobots of all time. He deserves more attention in media. I've only got SS86 Jazz atm and hes just *_nice._* Really good Jazz; one of the best. Origins Jazz is super cool; would be cool to have him at some point. RTS Jazz just _looks_ *_nice_* in both modes, but hes not the best holding together, etc, but everything else is great; I really like the bot and carmodes' designs. Don't have him, probably never will, but still; hes cool. POTP is just....ehhhh, alright. I do really want Autobot 5-pack for everyone, excluding Jazz; having an extra Jazz doesn't hurt, tho. my favorite is the RTS Jazz mold. specifically the United version from Takara. I have 3 different Jazz figures and hes the only one that wasnt disappointing. ot sucks too, because hes my favorite autobot but it's so hard to find good versions of him imo

I'm seriously thinking about picking up the 3-pack with this guy, Teletraan-1/Mainframe and Earthrise Optimus Prime. Even though I already have the ER Optimus, and the Teletraan-1 that came with The Ark, I've been wanting a Jazz figure for quite a while now, and I _need_ a Mainframe. So as soon as I get paid again I'll snag the 3-pack, seeing as I just spent money getting the Rolling Thunder Optimus. Man, pretty soon there won't even be enough room to 'stand' in my room, let alone sleep. xD
G1 Jazz was the first Transformers toy I have memory of as a child; opening it and figuring it out in the car on the way home. PotP jazz is the only Jazz I own as an adult after getting it on sale. SS86 and the clear plastic was a turn off for me, and I don't care about the Buzzworthy version.

But, I did cave and pick up the Orange Jazz because I love that color scheme so much, I love me my silly brightly colored transformers. And I also got Knockout because tfp = best transformers
Anyway. I finally got Space Jazz. I was initially prepared to write him off and never think about getting him, since he is not my definitive version of Jazz. But after I got Space Jazz, I was like, my goodness, he is so fun to pose and mess around with. His joints are all tight yet smooth. No other figure short of a Metal Build ever felt this smooth and satisfying. 1) We all know Space Jazz transformation is awful. It's only a bit better than Rhinox. Anyone who tells you it is good is straight up lying. 2) His alt mode is simply a shellforming panel former. 3) Some of his articulation is a bit limited. Like his elbows only a 90. And his butterfly might as well not exist. His knees are limited. But that aside, I am not kidding. Space Jazz joints are tight yet smooth. He is so satisfying to pose.

I used to be a champion of the old United. Then i got my hands on the new United coz someone was selling him and Sunstreaker separately, and now...I still like Takara RTS, but Legacy 86 is so much more fun to play with and transform, even if I miss RTS' superior speakers and gun. Maybe because my RTS was a bum copy with the canopy tabs always being a frightening prospect to detach for fear of snapping the clear plastic.
The first time I saw POTP Jazz I loved him! He may not have the best robot mode but I still think he’s cool (I don’t have him btw) I have Knockout and the mold is fun, it’s just a little finicky (that might just be my copy) and the others do look great but I personally actually like POTP Jazz the best…
The RTS Jazz I still have, but it's in storage, POTP Jazz I have, but I will only use him as a different character, A character who looks similar, but isn't related to him, I call him Vibe, you know, because he goes with the flow, and how I see him as a separate character, I kinda based him on the Hot Wheels Porsche 935 of the Urban Outaw variants, the white stays the same, but the red and blue are swapped around, this gives Vibe a variety of deco choices. Come on, we can use that as G1 Jazz, it's easy to do, if we have to make a custom version, an easy repaint.
RtS Jazz continues to be MY Jazz, though I'll probably have to get the shorter SS86-1 version, akin to how SS86-17 Ironhide is slightly shorter than Siege Ironhide and scales better with the mighty midgets that are Earthrise Optimus & Classics Optimus. As for that box set, the only one I wouldn't explicitly need is Wheeljack (I have the Earthrise original, the more show accurate box set version is akin to gettin' MP20+ Wheeljack when you already have the original MP20...it's pointless.), so that's a win. I missed out on SS86-1 Jazz, Earthrise Sunstreaker, Earthrise Trailbreaker, and the set's the only way to get what would've been SS86-18 ("Earthrise") Hound.
The fact that jazz died in the first movie is a pain in the *jazz* *wheel* see if they make another jazz Of *porsche* origins jazz is the best, it’s so obvious
I still like PotP Jazz, like honestly one of my favorite combiner molds, would be one of my favorite toys overall if his shoulders hadn't gotten super loose over time and the clear plastic hadn't snapped on the back (just one of the corners though, nothing super major). SS86 for me feels worse to handle and just is not very fun, and I just don't like him? Knock-Out I think is so much better of a use of the mold and just works better for some reason, especially in alt-mode> And origin jazz is great, I lost the grappling hook but I don't care too much about it, he feels nice to handle and well-articulated, and the design is nice and proportions are good and he's just amazing aside from kind of not being fun to transform for whatever reason. Wish we had origin jazz with the potp alt-mode somehow.
Hot take, 2010 is my least favourite. It was a nightmare trying to pose and I personally had no enjoyment having it. Can’t speak on origins, but the other two are solid to me. Potp is flawed, but given that it had to incorporate the gimmick I think it turned out alright
RTS Jazz is awesome, cuz his robot mode is basically a modern version of the g1 Jazz, minus the shoulder cannon ( original g1 shoulder cannon actually fits on him) Any ss86 version is really cool for cartoon accuracy, just too bad there's going to be three f'n versions of it, and two of three can only be had via multi-packs. Total bs!
Hang on, what about Fall of Cybertron Jazz's knees? What's wrong with them? They feel fine on my copy, honestly I've had more issues with the stupid shoulder transformation as my copy of sideswipe actually broke because of the stupid long tab to hold the shoulders in place so I just cut those off on both figures
as an owner of POTP Jazz, i hate it with a passion, it does constantly coming apart straight out of the box, but its transformation itself was a really good fidget thing, so... don't hate it THAT much, but it does suck
RTS Gift Set Jazz has my favorite deco, if a Jazz figure comes out in that deco I'll buy it, cause 86 and Origins I don't like. And POTP, I like the alt mode but it isn't quite my taste. Give me a modern version of the RTS Mold with that deco with a Porsche 918 Spyder style alt mode, and I'll eat that shit up.
For transformers related comfort figures its either r.e.d. (yes that one) g1 megatron or starscreammmotherwise its like. Ingot that back in black deadpool (the marvel legends one) and hes just like. Ill stick him in my bag sometimes if were foinf places where i could take pictuews oe something same with the r.e.d. lads

I would suggest 86 or origins if your going for a g1 style

SS 86 is objectively the best version (as are most of the SS 86 toys), but my personal favorite is RTS.

One other cool thing with RTS Jazz is that he can actually store his weapon in robot mode as well! Same exact spot as the vehicle storage

Then i got my hands on the new United coz someone was selling him and Sunstreaker separately, and now...I still like Takara RTS, but Legacy 86 is so much more fun to play with and transform, even if I miss RTS' superior speakers and gun. Maybe because my RTS was a bum copy with the canopy tabs always being a frightening prospect to detach for fear of snapping the clear plastic.

The first time I saw POTP Jazz I loved him! He may not have the best robot mode but I still think he’s cool (I don’t have him btw) I have Knockout and the mold is fun, it’s just a little finicky (that might just be my copy) and the others do look great but I personally actually like POTP Jazz the best…

The RTS Jazz I still have, but it's in storage, POTP Jazz I have, but I will only use him as a different character, A character who looks similar, but isn't related to him, I call him Vibe, you know, because he goes with the flow, and how I see him as a separate character, I kinda based him on the Hot Wheels Porsche 935 of the Urban Outaw variants, the white stays the same, but the red and blue are swapped around, this gives Vibe a variety of deco choices.
Come on, we can use that as G1 Jazz, it's easy to do, if we have to make a custom version, an easy repaint.

RtS Jazz continues to be MY Jazz, though I'll probably have to get the shorter SS86-1 version, akin to how SS86-17 Ironhide is slightly shorter than Siege Ironhide and scales better with the mighty midgets that are Earthrise Optimus & Classics Optimus.
As for that box set, the only one I wouldn't explicitly need is Wheeljack (I have the Earthrise original, the more show accurate box set version is akin to gettin' MP20+ Wheeljack when you already have the original MP20...it's pointless.), so that's a win. I missed out on SS86-1 Jazz, Earthrise Sunstreaker, Earthrise Trailbreaker, and the set's the only way to get what would've been SS86-18 ("Earthrise") Hound.
My fav Jazz is the Alternator but just like the G1, its such a pain to transform...

I still like PotP Jazz, like honestly one of my favorite combiner molds, would be one of my favorite toys overall if his shoulders hadn't gotten super loose over time and the clear plastic hadn't snapped on the back (just one of the corners though, nothing super major). SS86 for me feels worse to handle and just is not very fun, and I just don't like him? Knock-Out I think is so much better of a use of the mold and just works better for some reason, especially in alt-mode> And origin jazz is great, I lost the grappling hook but I don't care too much about it, he feels nice to handle and well-articulated, and the design is nice and proportions are good and he's just amazing aside from kind of not being fun to transform for whatever reason. Wish we had origin jazz with the potp alt-mode somehow.
Hot take, 2010 is my least favourite. It was a nightmare trying to pose and I personally had no enjoyment having it. Can’t speak on origins, but the other two are solid to me. Potp is flawed, but given that it had to incorporate the gimmick I think it turned out alright
I know the first ones chest does do that but I do think that a more g1 paint job would have it appeal to me more
RTS Jazz is awesome, cuz his robot mode is basically a modern version of the g1 Jazz, minus the shoulder cannon ( original g1 shoulder cannon actually fits on him)
Any ss86 version is really cool for cartoon accuracy, just too bad there's going to be three f'n versions of it, and two of three can only be had via multi-packs. Total bs!

My favorite is actually the PotP Jazz. I’ve had exactly two G1-style Jazzes and I genuinely was so disappointed with the origins version.

Hang on, what about Fall of Cybertron Jazz's knees? What's wrong with them? They feel fine on my copy, honestly I've had more issues with the stupid shoulder transformation as my copy of sideswipe actually broke because of the stupid long tab to hold the shoulders in place so I just cut those off on both figures
as an owner of POTP Jazz, i hate it with a passion, it does constantly coming apart straight out of the box, but its transformation itself was a really good fidget thing, so... don't hate it THAT much, but it does suck
i had the window on my origin jazz get a little crack in it when i clicked it into place and it bothers me deeply
RTS Gift Set Jazz has my favorite deco, if a Jazz figure comes out in that deco I'll buy it, cause 86 and Origins I don't like. And POTP, I like the alt mode but it isn't quite my taste.
Give me a modern version of the RTS Mold with that deco with a Porsche 918 Spyder style alt mode, and I'll eat that shit up.
