I actually prefer magnus as a armoured transport truck of some sort
same its just a lot cooler

I love these 3 alt modes.
This one is arguably the least fitting, i dont think magnus would be on the "level" of Hoist in terms of alt-mode, but its still very, very cool looking!
The Car Carrier does befit the "Armored robot" vibe, and also gives him a conforting aura. Carrying his battle wounded warriors back home, or reassuring the small squad he can carry with his might into the FRAY!
And an armored truck is just... Rad. A strong leader in a strong shape. Optimus prime plus. And thats *Generally* Magnus, innit?
Arguably my fave is the Car Carrier, but i love these three.
This shade of blue in conjunction with the alt mode kinda makes him feel more like a Hot Spot than an Ultra Magnus.

something I noticed about this figure:
His torso design and placement of kibble gives him an uncanny resemblance to rotb Transit
I love the recurring "Wait, that's not right!" gag, especially with the goofy sound effects, like the bike horn here and the rubber chicken squeak on Go Kenzan
Budget cuts hit the later Prime figures so hard.

@@sooder_fan1630looks like a Nemesis Prime repaint of the Commander Class Cyberverse/Beast Hunters prime. I think Commander Class used to be for small figures but now they use it for really big ones. I had the green version of this guy.

I do actually kinda like this Ultra Magnus design more then what we saw on the show, It looks like it's a bridge Between Animated and Prime

I had a commander-sized version of this Ultra Magnus, but the larger version was so much more money. When the larger Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus went on clearance, I got him. Almost no regrets. I like this 1st version’s proportions better, and the truck isn’t bad. Mine? A semi without trailer or smokestacks, and oddly stored missiles/jetpack/Forge(hammer). Voyager still seemed small for Magnus, though, and Year of the Snake was a wonky version. So, I went to Seige, and found the heft I needed. I was hoping Hasbro would release a Magnus like Planet X’s Apollo, but that never happened…
I once found this figure at a Walmart packaged in Last Knight Scorn’s box

@@Notchjrgaming1269 i wasn’t planning on buying any Transformers figures then, and even if i did, i was moving at the time so it would have just been sitting in a box for a while and i probably would have ended up selling it like most of the transformers i had at the time
I mean, i think this is good. But him being a optimus reuse design makes sense considering the type of relationship they have, they could've been brothers.
And when Optimus regressed mentally to Orion pax, Megatron tried gaslighting him into believing ultra Magnus was Optimus prime. Even using the same render on a computer.

I do kinda wish they had gone with this alt mode for the show. I don’t mind the other one, but I loved this alt mode and liked Magnus having his own design that wasn’t so Optimus-inspired.

I still have the other version of this mold, hammer and backpack still with it but I’ve given it to kids. It’s held up really well considering I got it on wave release.

This has always been the head cannon design for me. He's not just a blue Optimus prime with shoulder pads, and he actually looks really good too. I can only imagine how much better he'd look if they made a cgi model for this version of him

We kinda got to see him like this in the second episode of season 2. Except he had the tall shoulder pads.

Yeh was so disappointed he was just a remold of optimus (pre Beast Hunters). We even saw this version of Magnus teased in season 2.

I had the American release because I saw someone on tfw2005 turn the mold into a great looking motor master and someone else turn him into inferno.
I was disappointed that Ultra Magnus did not turn into this for the Beast Hunters season when I first watched it.
I forgot about this Magnus figure which is weird because I wanted this figure badly before the Siege figure was revealed
I love the BBM shockwave so much I got him for my just last week and he's AMAZING
The truck looked cool but the little weapon holders seemed kind of useless. Seems like it would have been perfect for a tow platform.

I had the smaller version of this mold and the shoulder broke off so he was always missing half the cab
This design was originally from a legends figure. The transformation is very similar and it’s mostly just joints and height that separate the two toys
Fun fact: someone customized this figure with Transit's color palette and man.... It does wonders
Thin and hollow I think describes most if not everything from Prime, after the first couple of initial waves. Remember seeing this on shelves, but ended up getting the Dreadwind instead. Later found the Prime recolor with the shoulders and wings. Though pretty much the same toy, the retooling is really nice and does more than enough to differentiate him from Prime in robot mode. Really curious now to know which really is the worst Ultra Magnus out there?

The Prime RID and/or Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus is the Ultra Magnus toy I want. They're not straight white redecos of Optimus Prime, they're actually visually distinct.
Sure, the Beast Hunters one _is_ a redeco of the Prime RID Optimus but it's not a white one and it has a new head, chest, and shoulders that actually make it look like Ultra Magnus with a blue and red color scheme.
Though the Takara version is probably thr better one with the darker blue.
I'm taking a guess, but Ultra Magnus not looking like this in the show was the result it being a lot cheaper to modify the season 1 and 2 Optimus Prim model into Ultra Magnus than it would be to build a new model from scratch. Plus, the TF Prime show production staff, according to Rik Alvarez, had a strained relationship with Hasbro.
Beast Hunters was also a rough time for the TF brand team at Hasbro, for what it's worth.
I can imagine the strained relationship came form the show creators constantly going over budget for the production of each episode. The show was really expensive during it's production.
In the end it also didn't help that Prime was a flop in Japan and that had a lot of reperocussions, but that is a different story.

it's a shame that the voyager class ultra magnus is just a big version of the core class, they have the same transformation just with some tiny thing to move apart
