Use the reapers for the tires, they slide well. Atleast on a zero turn, when I use to mow professionally we didn't like them that much for hills because we were driving at a 45 to 55 degree angle
Well now you gotta name it Dirt Ball
@@hobbs37110 đđđ
The best way to wind down after work/school is beer and BCG.
Hell yeah mike, I'm enjoying it all the way, bro''
I know it gets said a lot dude, but the effort you put into these vids and the quality of them is really top notch.
Still always means a lot man; thank you!
aww
Pro tip mike, put valve lapping compound on the dowls before you install the puller, helps it bite and not slip off the dowl
Really impressed how far youâve come from your fist videos man! You can see the hard work and progression. Great job Mike! Keep up the good work!
Much appreciated James; thanks for being around for my older content too!
Your mud ball was a âDirt Dauberâ nest. They are a type of wasp but many variations of them donât sting or are just not aggressive. They are kinda loaners and just make these nests to incubate their larvae
đ loved the info commercial bit. That's what makes you a step above the rest. Going that extra mile for your viewers.
Haha, glad you liked it and thank you for the love!
I think those lawn mower tires are bad ass or would be for this 3 wheel build
đđđ Dude we dont care what your fixing as long as you film it and drop a video we are good đ Are you still going to drop the raptor full engine build video?
I appreciate that Jose! Yes, that video will be posted; thank you for the reminder!
â@@MichaelSabo For sure dude. I'm in the process of building one. So far I got the bike fully stripped, blasted the frame, welded a lsr gusset kit and got the frame back from powder. Now I'm working on cerakoteing the engine, all the blasting is done just need time to actually paint them.
@Jose Calas sounds like a great build dude! I will try to get the engine build video up sooner than later.
@@MichaelSabo Yeah man it should be a nice build if I can translate what's on my mind to reality. 686 11-1 cp piston, carrillo rod, port and polished head, +1mm valves, beehives springs with titanium retainers, stage 3 hot cam, +4 curved stellar swingarm, I contacted full flight to see if they could make me a set of Arms like yours to run the yfz 450R long travel shocks, they were great and made them for me. I appreciate you giving them the measurements on the A arms and for all the replies man seriously.
BulTaco Mike ! I love how you pay homage to BulTaco ! A lot of the younger generation has never heard of a BulTaco let alone ever ridden one. BulTaco !!
IN THIS BUILD YOU CAN SEE HOW MUCH WORK REALLY GOSE INTO A BUILD LIKE THIS.
ALL THE LITTLE THINGS, ALL THE REPAIRS, AND MODIFICATIONS YOU DO.
YEAH, I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE END PRODUCT,
AND TO SEE WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO WITH IT. đđŽââ
I love these little random tools that make the job so much easier. Sure vise grips can get dowels out but it ruins them and thereâs just something satisfying about using the right tool.
Very true man, and you don't have to worry about scoring the cases with the right tools
You need to open an advertising agency!!! đ best tool commercial Iâve ever seen!
Love the comedy bit about the dowel remover.
That infomercial was done to perfection lol so funny.
Great Video Sabo! Little tip for a neck bearing race or a blown out wheel bearing that leaves the outside race. Run a solid bead of weld and that will shrink the race. Will almost fall out. Little tappy tappy with your purse will help send her home đđ»
yea I was going to suggest that too
Man, those darn wildfires
Michael, I watch your videos so much and have actually purchased the tools you use after watching. I am now finding I need to get a much bigger tool cabinet. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thx for the update about the new tools
Makin life easier should be everyoneâs goal
If not for your videos I wouldnât have a clue
Now Iâm a pro lmao
Hell yea dude, I'm glad you've learned from my videos đ€
Lmaoooo! The whole ass commercial for the dowel pin remover was great! Need more of this!!!!!
I'm voting on the first lawn mower tire, the reaper. It looks GREAT.
I'm so excited for this build! The yellow rad hoses are a nice custom touch. The price tag is worth it especially since it came with free stickers.
That stud tool is trick.
The left cylinder base studs are discontinued, but the right are allegedly still available if you need any.
That dowel tool is REAL trick!
Those look like the original transmission bearings. They should have "NSK" "07L" and "TM205", it looks like, from the picture on Partzilla, on the seals. Certain Hondas use a sealed bearing, but only sealed on one side. It's to try and keep transmission oil in them. The almighty 1992-2001 CR250Rs use that tech, and I think the 1984-1986 CR125Rs do too.
I know JB Weld works on rusty, glassbeaded steel that is then primer powdercoated, wet sanded, and color powdercoated. Nice and smooth. Looks like you're going to have the cover mini texture black powdercoated. I'm worried about there being pinhole leaks there though.
That headlight bracket is gonna be bitchin'. I'm looking forward to seeing the LED fabrication part!
Wow. Obviously, Yamaha never intended the steering stem bearings to be replaced...
In the 80s I would put Cheng Shin tires on my bikes because they had good tread patterns and they were an economical tire. People would always give me grief about it lol. Those same people today probably drool over Maxxis which is owned by Cheng Shin. Also on many bicycles and ebikes they have "CST" tires (Cheng Shin Tire). I believe CST is the largest bicycle tire manufacturer in the world. I feel some vindication lol.
100% man! I actually just learned this past week that CST was Cheng Shin.
Tri-z it's cool to see u doing it . Even better to see some of these companies working on older machines keeping them alive . Can't wait going to be badass
I can fully weld, reinforce and machine that case back to spec if youâre interested. No cost, I appreciate what you do and want to help out.
This is a very generous offer; I already dropped the cover off at my coater but it may not be coated yet. If you like, send me an email and maybe I can send it to you - michaelsabo350@gmail.com
Btw thanks for being so dilligent! Watching these make me happy :D
Thank you for watching them and supporting what I do!
To remove that race, all you gotta do is weld a continuous bead around it. Once the weld cools the race will just fall out of the barrel.
Thank you for the tip! I think just welding on it is part of the reason it punched out so easily.
I had my 89' blaster powder coated by a good buddy of mine Peter Amato here in michigan, a great guy and he actually showed me the clear coated vin trick and honestly it looks TRICK!!
That dirtball was a mud wasp nest aka dirt dauber. Great idea welding that steering bearing race. I've fought with those for hours before. Never thought of that. đđđ Thanks!!
i love the last part of this video, you showing the tire options and stuff you are thinking of ordering, just feels like were chilling lol
That dowel tool is Badass!! Very impressed!
Anotger work of art!! Love the little comments and jokes! Cant wait to hear the tri z fire up. Keep up the great work Mike!!!đ€
Thank you for the love Frank!
Best way to start the week right heređ€
I appreciate you Will đ€
We could smell the smoke in Maryland at one point so pretty crazy. When that exhaust literally took a dump on your work bench, I died laughing. The work you do is so primo and I need those skills for some of the crap I buy too. I'm pretty sure I've seen a powder coat safe filler that you can use for those pinholes.
Mud Dauber nest in the exhaust. I've had many of weed wackers mysteriously not run the next time out due to these little buggars setting up in the exhaust.
Ahh, thank you for the info man! They're not that common around here but these TRI-Zs came from across the country.
Freaking love the channel. You should buy your own vapor blaster. It's such a great too to have. 10 minutes at 200 degrees in your gas grill and bearings will pretty much fall out of cases.
That's facts man! I usually do the oven but sometimes they just fall out; great info!
So pumped about this build
Hey Micheal, I hope you get this, you said something about getting surgery on your rotator cuff, have you heard of QC Kenetics? Itâs an all natural healing and it works. I had a torn muscle in my left shoulder and rotator cuff messed up in my right shoulder. I did the treatments and no surgery and didnât miss one day of work and they want you to use your shoulders. I have no pain at all and can put both my arms above my head. Check it out. NO SURGERY! It works. I love your videos
Another way to remove inner races is to run a weld bead on the race where the bearing rides. Once it cools it will contract and âshrinkâ the race and it will come out much easier. Sometimes just fall out.
6:06 đđđ man I missed this type of stuff on your Channel, always gets me cracking up! Really like this build,
Iâm super excited to see it all come back together. Amazing video as always Mike!
Haha, glad you liked the infomercial. Thank you as always bro!
I guess if you want different lawn mower tires are definitely that would love to see you do that just to see the review on how they drive
That was a Mud Dobber that made a nest in your exhaust. They are little black wasps with a blue tint. Typically not aggressive, but they make nests in places that can cause problems. Anyway, awesome job on the headlight, and that was a freaking awesome idea to get the neck bearing out. Iâll have to remember that for the future.
Thank you man, just be careful not to weld the race to the frame đ
@@MichaelSabo oh yeah, that would NOT be good đ
Yep exactly, we have them get into everything in the south. I couldn't get my echo back pack blower started one day, plug was wet but was getting spark. They filled a small muffler completely solid.
@@malibusbc Iâm in Tennessee, if you leave anything outside that they can get into they can and will make a nest in it, as well as on every single brick building lol
Good work love the content mike !!
Thank you Billy!
gonna be sick !
Mike when you have a phillips-head that stripped out take a grinder and cut a slit in it and use a flat head screwdriver to get it out đ
Now that is some great work. I'm really impressed, I know I couldn't do that. Thanks for the video man. Love it
Cant wait to see it done
Finally been waiting for this video
Looking awesome!
I can't wait to see this done its gonna be great
That was awesome man đ
That is a spider pinata! I'm in Florida. The dirt dobbers are relentless. They will build in or on anything that sits still for more than a day.
đđŒ always enjoy your videos, thanx
Never click that fast before đ„đ
My maaan, thank you Tristan!
Great video Mike
Another awesome video Mike! Canât wait until the full build! God bless!
With those Reaper tires, I mowed grass for years and some mowers had those. They do not have much more grip than standard turf tires, so they would be great for sliding around, but they would be pretty bad in wet conditions.
Thank you for this feedback; that was my worry, is that on messy trails they'd be worthless lol
Great video, have fun in OK , look forward to upcoming videos đđ»
Love the camera transitions and editing, awesome video đđ»
Mike I have learned so much from you, you have inspired me to start doing these types of things just yesterday I finally got me a Yamaha warrior 350 to work on
Whatever tire you get on a three wheeler, my experience is less traction the better. And light weight is a big factor too. Good luck my friend
Man this dude has inspired me to build up my first dirt bike frame i love the vids alot
Love the videos! Glad you put so much work into them. You very underrated. Hope the channel grows more. Keep up the good work!
My favourite channel on YT
Congratulations on building this up
New subscriber sincerely enjoy your videos bro keep it up man appreciate your time brother !!
Love the videos! Glad you put so much work into them. Youâre very underrated. Hope the channel grows more. Keep up the good work!
You can always tap the dowel as well and use washers and a bolt to pull the dowel out. Can reuse the dowel too. This is the way Iâve always done it. Iâll probably buy this tool now though, thanks haha!! Great vid man
Not sure what the washer and bolt method is but there's no doubt this is the easiest I've been about to remove an old stuck dowel; I'd say you'll be happy with it if you get one!
Those maxxis razor tires grip too much when they are brand new, then when they wear down below 70% then it will start to slide much better. Half tread life is kind of the sweet spot for a 3-wheeler, which is why I always took my used tires off of my quads and put them on my trikes. But that is probably why you got such contrasting points of view, the razorâs sliding ability is basically dependent on the terrain and the life that is remaining on the tire. Anyway, I canât wait to see the finished product. If I could make a suggestion I would recommend pulling the tires off of another one of your quads since they are worn down a bit and then put the new tires on that quad⊠just a suggestion.
I got a number of comments saying the same thing - that for three wheelers, half tread is the sweet spot; pretty crazy lol. I wonder if there's a mod to cutting the tread so I could still have new tires on a fresh build that perform the way I want.
@@MichaelSabo you know, I have a theory about that. Iâm thinking that MAYBE you can round off the treat if the âforward drive directionâ on some new tires so they donât bite quite as hard, and maybe round the sides of the tread lugs so they donât get as good of side to side traction. I donât know if it would work, and I donât exactly have the funds to ruin a new set of tires đ . I liked turf tamers a lot on my trikes and I always ran them slightly over inflated so they wonât bite as hard. My quads I run 3-6 psi in the back because thatâs optimal pressure for most conditions, but with trikes Iâll run 6-10psi to stiffen up the tires so they donât grip as good. The less flex you allow the tires to have the better they will slide
Good stuff!!
Thank you bro!
gonna be sweet!
Love the vidsâ€
Thank you Jarrett!
Love the new tools definitely have to order me some!!
Thank you for supporting man; they really are good tools to have
Love the mud dobber in the DG exhausts silencer
yeah the fires are bad down here one near me I'm glad they put out plus the week worth of rain helped to
Itâs a mud dobber, love ur videos
Good choice on the rear tires
Thanks Sabo for another great educational video from Dr. Cycle..
I cant wait for the next one..And isnt it crazy about all that smoke from Canada, Im in Pennsville NJ and we had it bad here too, I hope you and your Dad have a awesome Father's Day..
You rock đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ»
Hey Mike just a reminder you should use a low profile tire for the rear something like a Honda 400 tire and make sure itâs OEM
Not sure if you made it to the end but I chose 20x11x10 Razr's. Front will be 22x7x12. It will be about 2 inches lower than stock.
Yeah I saw the tires you were going to use but I personally would recommend a looser tire for traction otherwise it will grip really hard when youâre trying to turn
There is a filler, I believe it's called Lab metal high temp and can fill in the pitting from the Weld and also be powder coated. This process was done on one of my aluminum fuel tanks with great results.
Truth. Having worked at a powder coating shop for years high temp lab metal is the only filler that will hold up to the heat. Several companies also make low cure powders that can cure at 350deg which helps keep fillers from melting out.
What you found in the muffler is a dirt dauber nest, they eat spiders and make nests out of dirt. We have them here in Louisiana.
Lol did not expect the plumbing and archeology!!...Yu made a bunch of lame routine chores fun! Cool vid
Just change my profile pic to my TRX700 đ€đ keep âem coming Mike!!
How come every time I watch your videos, my tool cabinet keeps getting cramped. Waiting to see everything come together. Love the videos!
That stud removal tool looks really good some are so weak and that dowel tool with the slide hammer was cool af clever idea, I've had best results with once I get the stud moving to keep going backwards and forwards a few turns at a time
Great bud again as usual and love the razrs but just wanted to say I have the sunf knock offs on my warrior theyâre pretty good and close enough for the price
I live in south jersey and the razors we used were perfect in the sugar sand or gravel but gripped hard with grass
Can run a continuous bead of weld
On the bearing race to get it out. The weld will make the race shrink when the weld cools And they come out super easy.
Lawnmower tires are fun and oddly turf saver tires are decent in snow but id spend an extra couple bucks for actual off road tires or something but they work great for ripping around the yard and not tearing everything up
Great job on that clutch cover, definitely going to get that dowel pin remover. Looks like a great tool.
Thanks man, hopefully it will be decent after coating. The tools are great!
We got the smoke down in southern Illinois also.
I loved my GNCC tires/ Iâm doing TT they hooked super great but slides just to little.just hooks. Did Hoosier tires amazing! And holeshot are good as well!
Lol I have sunf tires on my Polaris scrambler 500 4x4 and they slide well and will hook well they are very predictable when you are riding the machine
Love the videos keep up the good work
When im restoring a old quad like blaster now, i love using old dunlops like kt335 and kt331 from 660 bcs they have the old quality of japan and in suits the style of made.but they are hard to find in good condition.
Ton of porosity in that weld. Craziness.
Need to presoak those studs with a little "maintenance man in a can"...
You need to buy vampliers they are the best pliers for stripped Phillips head screws ever they are amazing!
Look at terache tires. They have been great for me so far
For tires u could look at the Duro HF-244 Desert X-Country Tire
Hey mike love the videos when are you going on a ride on film again gotta get out the banshee or 250r howâs the 660 coming along got the transmission fixed yet?
24:14 âthat ainât stopping shit đđđ
