I had MCR fit a MullerWorks to my CZ action . Josh, I have not found an ammo that shoots poorly ( sk+ is the least expensive ammo I use) However it does get even better with premium ammo . I never thought I’d get this kind of confidence from a CZ . Thanks for introducing this rifle to your channel. Jonathan Elrod at Modacam can really make them shoot at that Vudoo / RimX level .
I finally got my rifle back from CZ about 3 weeks ago. They had it for about 3 1/2 months. They said it was a trigger pin that was loose and was causing it not to reset the firing pin when cycled. Now it is too hot to get out except early morning for about 4 hours. I had swapped the barrel out with a Lilja and only had 200 round down the new barrel before sending it to CZ. The good thing is it is shooting SK Standard and Long Rifle Target ammo pretty good. I was hopeful that it wasn't going to need the expensive stuff.
Indeed. Try the Lifesavers butter rum as well. Yum. When I was I wee lad in the early 80s, the banks would all give out dum dums to people with kids in the car at the drive through. Butterscotch was always the most coveted by all.
@@PursuitofAccuracy Is it worth spending less on a 457 if plan is to eventually change barrels, stock and such? I’m trying to decide between an American suppressor ready in a synthetic stock and a varmit. The American is around $100 less, do you think the accuracy will be similar until I get the other barrel? I’m assuming the action and trigger are the same..
I haven't started outshooting my rifle's capabilities yet, so new new barrel for me! ...but it's SO tempting to upgrade hardware vs upgrading the software
I would like to make a request. This request keeps you in the CZ family, would give you some new fresh videos and would be AWESOME! Buy a 457 Jaguar or Lux and shoot a bit with the iron sights. Maybe even take the 28.6 in barreled action and put it a chassis, scope it and see what compare to the standard 20.5 inch barrels. You could get 10 or 15 videos out of the 600 buck Jaguar...then remove the rear sight, scope it, switch from the sporter stock to chassis (maybe 600-1000 bucks) and get another 10-15 videos..
Folks that ask you that question haven't been paying attention! I just had a chat with a man discussing the Marlin mod 60 and what its capable of. If a man can shoot, he'll surprise everybody with darn near anything!❤❤❤ When I saw the title I thought CZ had started making ammo!😅
Love this gun! Both the accuracy and the looks. I've got to build one like this. If Eddie Van Halen built a gun stock this is what it would look like. Reminds me of his Frankenstein guitar
Enjoyed the video! I am currently shooting an MTR w/20 1/2" stock barrel. Even better out of the box than my 2 other 457s (AT-ONE and factory chassis gun). The MTR likes Tenex...will be trying SK LR this week and Midas+ next week. I have an MDT ACC Premier chassis coming next week and a barreled action being built by Kenny @ Desert Precision for it. I am 1 month into a 9 month build lead. Using an Arken SH4 on the AT1 and factory chassis 457, EP5 on the MTR, and considering a Bushnell Match Pro ED 5-30X56 for the custom build. LOVE those 457s!
Awesome brother 🙌🏻 I’ve plucked dimes at 200 yards with my Varmint MTR, but I couldn’t do it repeatedly like you did in this video. That’s the part that is super impressive - outstanding!
Sir, I saw that smile when you hit that dum dum! We just had our second Anual Dum-Dum challenge last month. We do it at 💯 because that’s the longest range available. That’s really good shooting at 150 🥥🥥🥥. Thank you for the video. I always learn a new thing.🙏👍🏽
Guess thanks fur sticking to the 22. Even though you ain't 10//22ing it. Lots of other guys stopped the 22 videos. Some even had the VQ Summit receiver. Keep on 22in.
I love your videos and am thoroughly impressed with your shooting and have learned a lot about the potential of .22 lr, but if it's a custom barrel on a CZ 457 action, is it REALLY a CZ?
I've seen many of your videos and I know you have had experience with IBI barrels. I have one for my 457 that lead fouls pretty bad. The main guy at IBI told me that shooting 500 to 1000 RDS of cci blazer to foul the barrel in will help settle it in then go to the higher end ammo. What did they tell you if anything? I'm just curious as to why a match grade barrel especially a rimfire would take that long. I have center-fire rifles I've fit and chambered that took only 5 to 10 RDS to lay down.
Who cares if it shoots, the red stripes on the stock along with the Burris scope look awesome! A lot of folks poo-pooed the red parts on the XTR Pro when it first came out but I like it, and you'll never struggle to find it in a rack full of black and silver rifles :)
I'm curious, are any of the magazine fed vintage 22LR rifles like the Remington 500 series or 40X's or maybe a!Winchester Model's 52 or 75 Mossberg and Savage/Stevens notwithstanding, just inherently too inaccurate are the barrels that bad to be considered for NRL22 or PRS? Seems the 40X's platform is copied by some. Just a curious thought. Or maybe a vintage category to dust off those rifles?
On average, do you find the 457s prefer ELEY to SK or Lapua? I compete with a Vudoo but recently acquired a CZ457 LRP brand new in the box and not sure what it might like. I pretty much just shoot SK Rifle in the Vudoo but dont want to waste what I have if the LRP is going to end up liking Eley
How can it be a CZ 457 when the barrel, the chassis, the trigger, etc, is not made by CZ? What parts are actually CZ? In my mind, it is a custom rifle that happens to have a CZ action which is just a small component of the accuracy of the final product.
100% as good an especially if you put a lil money into it.. never once had a mag malfunction an every bit as accurate checkout long gong on FB and see what we do with our 457’s 4” gongs a 300 all day son!!😊
I respectfully disagree. A receiver and bolt remaining and everything else aftermarket the argument can be made its no longer a CZ. I imagine that's why there are factory classes in competition.

Jonathan's the real deal. Certain others are hyped up snake oil salesmen.

So what are the specs on the scope?
Love the videos. Which Armageddon bag do you have? And which size?
I have the pint size as the rear bag but use a schmedium for props
So what then are the reasons to buy a Vudoo or Rimx over the less expensive CZ 457 action since the CZ shoots so well?
Rem 700 comparability and preference
Any thoughts on ideal barrel width and length to balance a 457 in that MDT chassis?
24-26" / 1.00 to 1.25 diameter

Can you tell me what is your complet partlist for your bipod please ?

It's all very much barrel specific. Id test whatever you have on hand
Is there a big difference in accuracy between the CZ 457 Varmint and the CZ 457 MTR?
The barrel on the mtr will have a match chamber. That and the stock are the biggest differences
