this is some really awesome music!
it feels like my heart has a big, heavy rock in it when i just think about all the million soldiers who lost their lives, who lost their beloved ones.. for what? a silly war with a really stupid reason. i will sing "mad world" at a concert. and i will sing it for all the brave soldiers and all the unlucky ones who lost their lives in the war and because of the war. i will sing it for them

WW2 was about ending the violence and the killing. A tremendous amount of people were killed during this conflict. And it was the only War in history where more civilians died than combatants. Civilians should NEVER under any circumstances be targeted or dragged into a military engagement. Wars should be fought amongst soldiers, not innocent civilians who just happen to be in the way

This would have played during a deleted sequence where they were all riding on a jeep before it gets blown up. The sequence resumes when they are walking in the fields and have the conversation about Ryan being worth 8 men. In the deleted sequence they are come under artillery fire which destroys the jeep. They then sprint across a field to get away. When they are safe Wade looks to the sky and exclaims "Praise the angels on our shoulders!". These are referenced later in the movie when Jackson says "We left them 88s." and at the end when Miller sees the P-51 and says "The angels on our shoulders."

Also their extra ammunition and radio are destroyed in the jeep, which plays into the later events of the movie.
