30 - The Rock Slab Pool Rainbow

Hiked down to this pool. Hooked up first cast. The river flows both sides of the large rock, so you can't afford to let a fish go down the far side. Apologies for the huffing and puffing in the background. I was still getting my breath back from the hike when I hooked her.

That 3lb+ Rainbow trout fought like a 8lb striper bass. Nice catch and a big congratulations.

Would have been nice to get the fish in the camera! Afraid it was too small!!!

I usually hold the fish up in front of the chest camera briefly, but they are slippery and this one got away on me. It was an average size for this river, which is 2.5 to 3.5 pounds.
