Thank you for watching and your kind comments. It is a very pretty river. I couldn't make out the exact fly after reviewing the footage, but I only use two different nymphs. So it will either be the one I tie in video number 4, or in video number 14 on this channel. Hope that helps.

I usually hold the fish up in front of the chest camera briefly, but they are slippery and this one got away on me. It was an average size for this river, which is 2.5 to 3.5 pounds.

I was casting to him and a Rainbow a bit further upstream alternately and changing flies for about two hours before he took that fly. I had definitely taken my "eye off the ball". I did see the take but had a heap of slack line to haul in before I could load the rod. Also, I wasn't 100% sure which white blob was actually the fly until he ate it. It's better to be lucky than smart 😁.

Normally no, but this pool has a difficult current and I was getting a bit lazy with my line management .It worked out OK in the end, but I was lucky he hooked himself 😀.

They don't seem to have impacted the native species much in this river, but no doubt they have in others. They have been here for over a hundred years so far. I see humans making a far bigger negative impact in most of our rivers. I'm no expert though, just my observations.
