A 21mm f1.5 for Leica M as well as all mirrorless cameras via adapter. For just above $400 dollars.. is it too good to be true, or is it something quite special? I will also review their 35mm f1.4 so make sure to subscribe for that.

Good to hear how you don’t need an external viewfinder on the M8 and use internal frame lines. Just found a cheap Voigtlander 21 f4 and was wondering if internal frame lines would be good enough to estimate

I love the 21mm on my X-E3. I find the crop FOV of 31.5mm very useful. I'm very interested in this lens. I had the Kamlan 21mm which I found to be a very well made lens that produced great images. I returned it only due to the aperture ring. It is de-clicked, which alone I could get used to, but the numbers on the ring were printed in a manner that did not allow me to be able to tell what aperture I was really using.

Currently I'm using a Voigtlander 21mm f4 color-skopar lens that does produce beautiful B&W images, but if used for color images the left and right edges have a purple/pink hue cast from 0.5 to 1.0 inch's in on my 27" monitor when processing in lightroom. I have been able to remove most of this, but some always hangs about.
Does this 21mm 1.5 cause this same effect? Or is it just this little Voigtlander... Drives me crazy. Nice review as always...

Really strange focal distance. I wonder if lenses are made in the standard focal lengths (including the oddballs 40, 85 and 135) because otherwise they'd be "too different" for the average person to feel comfortable with.
Then again, real focal lengths and f numbers aren't always exactly the same as the advertised ones; but in that case I understand and agree, it's better to advertise "70-200" than "69,7-199,1"

I have been a photographer for fifty years. I have a lot of lenses. I just ordered this lens and the 50mm f1.4 for my new Lumix S1R. Here is my opinion on lenses. I have some extremely expensive and valuable lenses. I also love affordable excellent lenses like the Voigtlanders. When I saw TT Artisans' Christmas special I said, what the hell, lets have fun. When an artist paints, it doesn't matter how much the brush costs. It's the factor of what the brush presents to the artwork and the artist's hand. Every lens has a fingerprint. Buying the TT Artisan 21mm for just over $200. USD and the 50mm f1.4 for under $200. is laughable, especially if my images are gallery quality and I tell people I shot them with a $200. lens.
