The ThermAC sensor is designed to maintain 100°F to prevent carb/throttle plate icing. The wet intake like a CFI needs that warm air for fuel vaporisation and the injector pulsewidth is calibrated for 100° air.
I'm an ancient MoPar tech and there was a way to tweak our version of the ThermAC sensor to make sure we got the needed sir temp. I'm unsure if there is a way to tweek the GM sensor.
The Tuned-Port depends on the coolant flowing thru the lower part of the throttle body for the throttle plate icing issue.
TPI owners in cool/cold climates can get into icing issues if they do the coolant bypass for that extra 1-2hp.

Absolutely right, these were only used on carburetors and throttle body's with a wet intake systems Once they changed over to dry intake systems with throttle body's they started running coolant through the throttle body's to prevent icing. Thanks for watching!

Good video explaination. I'll add that the fuel mixture distribution on the Crossfire wasn't great especially after a cold start, so using warmed air for the intake helped out until there was enough heat in the intake manifold. This was probably less important in the summer, but more important in cold weather.

Very true! All wet intake systems (Carbs, TBI) had this problem of fuel puddling in the intake. When the atomized fuel hit the cold metal of the intake manifold it would puddle turning back from atomized vapor to liquid fuel that doesn't burn. This problem was basically solved when the port fuel injection systems came out and they went to a dry intake. Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoy my channel.

Have to find a paint match to redo my intake. I bought a rattle can from a major supplier but it’s way too silver.

I used Dupli-color engine enamel with ceramic in CAST COAT IRON - DE1651 I hope this helps I thought it was a good match. Thanks for watching my videos.
