I have caught the Boeing 777-300ER on Nov. 2 this year of ETIHAD Airways and Air New Zealand taking off. On that same day, I caught China Eastern Airlines 777-300ER landing, and Turkish Airlines 777-300ER landing as well!!! Awesome trip report!
Rashad Khan thanks a lot! And yeah it’s a joy seeing etihad’s 300ER come to lax now. For many years (including this trip report when I flew) it’s always been a 777-200LR which is definitely nice but I enjoy the 300er more.

Tanvir Rahman I fly the A380 between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow and sometimes from Abu Dhabi to Sydney. But i can also fly the A340-500/600 and A330 series because I used to operate them to Heathrow and Sydney before the A380 was added to our fleet

Actually, I wouldn't trust the scheduled arrival time. That was pulled from flightaware. I'm pretty sure we were supposed to arrive at 20:15 as per Etihad's schedule and actually arrived earlier. But good point!!

araf gamer yep! 777-200LR/300ER also probably my favorite plane just because of the GE-90 engine alone.

The actual wall outlet charges your phone faster then the USB port and also the aeromobile air system is expensive use the inflight WiFi and WiFi calling on your phone to make calls if your phone supports WiFi calling however if your phone does not support WiFi calling then your kinda screwed and will need to use the Aeromobile air system to make calls.
Joe Tintin I never have a reason to make calls while in air. They can be incredibly expensive and there’s just simply no one I need to call while in flight. But it would be interesting to see I’ve never seen someone make a call in flight on any of my flights.

Im 6'2 and flying from Perth to new york with layover in abu dhabi. Anyone know if it's a really cramped flight for leg room? Never flown etihad before
Ok so for the first leg from Perth you will be flying in Etihad's 787-9 aircraft with the new economy product. I think legroom should be fine for you, not too cramped. Now for your second leg to JFK, You could either be flying in an Etihad A380 or a 77W. if you are flying in the A380, it may feel a little cramped not because of the legroom, but because the entire main deck is a 3-4-3 economy configuration which sometimes can tend to make people feel cramped. But if you are flying on the 77W, then try and get the back of the aircraft where the configuration changes to 2-4-2. Most of economy rows on the 77W is 3-4-3 like the A380 but the last few rows are 2-4-2 and i sat in a window seat in those last rows and it definitely felt a little more spacious. Legroom I think you should be fine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions, Cheers and regards!

Yes indeed it was quite an indian menu. But I will say the majority of the crowd was indian and a lot of them had connecting flights to other cities in India. If you want I can send you pictures of the menu for this flight. All the dishes were Indian pretty much.

What’s the longest flight you’ve ever done
@@daniarevalochocron2985 the longest blocked time is probably this one which was 16 hours 15 minutes at the time, however the longest flight time i remember was one of my Mumbai Newark flights I did back in 2017 which due to strong headwinds ended up being a flight time of 16 hours 56 minutes of air time. We were pushing the 777 to the bring of its range at that time and if we needed even a few more min of airtime we would’ve had to divert.

@ibrplayz892 unfortunately it does not, it pulled out after its failed investments in a lot of airlines around the world caught up with them financially some years ago

I know this question is stupid but is it the -200LR or 300ER
Not a stupid question at all, its a great one actually. After all, both have the raked wingtip at the end which make them look alike on the inside and Etihad has both variants so its a perfectly valid question. This one is the 200LR variant for extreme long distance flights.

Not at the moment since the demand is not high enough, but I would sure love it if they did. See, a lot of people who fly on the middle eastern carriers from the US aren't trying to fly to those cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha. They are using those cities as a connection city to India and some other countries. In LA, Emirates has made its presence and it is well known, which is why it operates two daily flights from LAX, an A380 in the afternoon and a 77L/77W later in the evening. Etihad and Qatar only have 1 77L to their hub cities from LAX because the demand simply isn't there to increase the capacity. So while I wish I could say yes, I don't see the route changing to an A380 in the near future.

Have u faced turbulence how worse it was
Arhan Wasif there actually was some turbulence on this flight, but only because we were passing over a massive storm system. Otherwise the only other turbulence I had was approaching Abu Dhabi and that’s only because the uneven heat and air temps creates turbulence for the aircraft
I am six feet tall. can someone please let me know does this plane have enough leg room for long flight. I am Flying from LA to India via Abu Dhabi.
It should be just doable for you. I'm 5' 10" and the leg space was ok for me. For your first leg its a 777-200LR so i highly recommend booking in rows 31-34 in the window or aisle seats because rows 31-34 have a 2-4-2 configuration rather than 3-4-3 like the rest of economy so it is more spacious due to the curvature of the plane. This can make a huge difference in comfort especially for a 15.5 hour flight. For your second leg into India, if you can tell me the city, I can tell you the model and then tell you about legroom for that flight. But otherwise for now, hope this helps.

Etihad and Jet airways have a partnership where when you book through etihad, some india bound flight are operated by Jet like for me when flying to Pune. But for Bangalore, Etihad and Jet both fly there from Abu Dhabi, so is your flight operated by jet airways? or Etihad airways?
I purchased the tickets through jet airways. I think it is a jet airlines flight.

MrMajistic Its long, but frequent walking is what i do to get through the flight. Also I just enjoy flying I'm sure you probably figured out ages ago, so the flight was enjoyable. Orlando-London-Doha definitely seems like a solid option if you can't be in an aircraft for that long. But if you ever plan to go to Abu Dhabi via London or the reverse route, I captain that route on Etihad so you're more than welcome to hop onboard with me. I'm sure 7 hours in a spacious A380 is far more feasible than 16 hours in a 777-200LR.

If you have the option of 777 or 380, go for the 380 at all cost. I flew from Sydney to Abu dhabi (and back) and i pick both A380 legs (which also happened to be good timings as well) but cost me a little bit more. For abu dhabi to rome, i didn't really care as much since its like only 6 hours.

Not necessarily. The price depends on the demand and availability of a route. Some routes may be cheaper than others just because of the destination. It all depends on where your going ad even what time of year you are going there.

Super Min Actually you'd be surprised at how many airlines don't give menus in economy class. Some airlines go through the effort of producing it for economy, whereas most all other airlines just have the FAs give the passengers a few options as the crew comes around with the meal carts.
Well then you are smart enough to fly with the best and I commend you for knowing which ones are the best! More of that coming in a little over 2 weeks to my channel now
