I took my test last week and I got 8. I understood, There’s literally nothing to worry. If you can speak English, you can do the speaking test. It’s that simple. Don’t stress urself with too many tips or high vocabulary etc. Imagine u r speaking to just a random person in English. That’s it. You’ll get 7 for it.

You made it sound easy but there are lots of rules which makes this test too complex. Introverts like me who generally do not talk much and bad with recalling incidents & Memory will definitely die during this test. This test is literally insulting psychological and mental abilities of individuals. There are introverts in most of the foreign universities who can talk but don't do unnecessary talking. It's their mental condition they might take some time to answer but they will definitely answer it perfectly. Hope cambridge should re consider the rules in ielts speaking, listening & Reading

I find myself really confident when am speaking to myself, but whenever I try to have a conversation with someone, I usually stutter . .....
Update : i scored 8 in speaking. And the best way to get 8 in speaking is, have confidence in urself. Thats it. Breath deep before u speak, and u get ample amount of time to think get calm and speak. Good luck to u guys

Indians speak English well usually. I think that English is the second official language in India so it helps
It is indeed, but not all people in India speak English well. Just like in Canada, French is the official second langauag but many people do not speak it well, or at all!

I guess that French speaking Canadians from Quebec do understand English pretty fluently, but most of them can only speak a funny English, can you confirm ?

Well after watching this video, i've got a couple of remarks on the interview process:
- The examiner supposed to be relaxed, chill, and friendly, after all the aim is to make the candidate feel more comfortable which is not the case here, as it is quite obvious he had a poker face during the whole conversation and it was quite tense.
- The examiner asks questions rapidly without giving a chance to the girl to catch up her breath, he made her speak non stop in cursive.
- The questions are way hard not relevant to our daily life, even a native speaker wouldn't be able to give a coherent and cohesive answers . The type of questions supposed to be more simple and easy as you don't expect to interview a politician or a journalists...
- The candidate did her best to give a PERFECT answer to all the questions as if she had memorized them in advance like a scenario and that's quite stressing , well i supposed the goal of the IELTS is not about the perfection it is more about how you are expressing yourself in an informal way.
That was all, so hopefully it won't be the case for other candidates including myself .

Hey, Adrian, it's me again. I'm done with my IELTS and the results just came in. I got an 8.5 overall, with 9 in listening and reading, and 7.5 in speaking and writing. Your videos were a GREAT help. To any of those attempting this, be confident and manage time well. I couldve done better in writing but i ran out of time because of bad planning. And in spoken, i think i spoke way too fast which gave the examiner the impression that i'm nervous, even though i really wasn't xD. Overall im pretty happy with an 8.5, and again, thanks a lot for your videos.

Sir you are great, I thought a native examiner would take my exam who would be as nice as you but that didn't happen. Today I had my speaking test and it was taken by an indian teacher and she was so rude. She didn't allow me to even complete the examples and was managing her things on the table without having eye contact with me which made me so anxious and I was not confident enough. I think due to the large number of applications, indian examiners don't respect the candidates and are not at all friendly. I am so disappointed that I wanted to share with much more confidence but I couldn't.
Please do something about this system, If you could take a test via video call then it would be great

Personally I would give her an 8.5 because she repeats also and but when it's unnecessary but the natural tone and coherence is so natural that I can just lead myself to give a 9🙏
I am planning on using a past present future method for speaking in part 2 of the speaking task where I will be describing three stories. Any thoughts on this methods?.
CAREFUL!!! This does not work for many cue card questions. You should only do this if the question is asking you about the past, present and the future. Some questions only focus on the past.
