Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo, Japan - A long-established hotel that soothed my soul

  • It is a long-established hotel in Shinjuku with a long history, opened in 1971 as Japan's first skyscraper hotel 170 meters above ground.
The hotel is divided into the main building and the south building, each of which is 47 and 34 stories high, respectively.
There are 1,438 guest rooms in the main building and the south building combined.
The large windows in the rooms offer a beautiful night view of either the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office side or the Shinjuku Station side, depending on the direction the room faces.
On this day, I stayed in a room on the Shinjuku Station side.
What can I say, the quality of service from the hotel staff is high and comfortable.
I had a cocktail at the club lounge, and also enjoyed watching the rain-smoked night view of Shinjuku from my room, which was very soothing.
The uniquely designed white mesh building seen from my room is the Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower. As the name suggests, it was built as a campus for Mode Gakuen's three vocational schools in the fields of fashion, IT, and medicine. The motif of the building is a cocoon with the image of students spreading their wings as professionals.
I went to Boutique Troisgros in the Odakyu Department Store, which is directly connected to Shinjuku Station, and bought simple, beautifully designed, and very delicious cakes.
Troisgros has been awarded the highest Michelin three-star rating in France for over 50 years.
※Unfortunately, Troisgros has withdrawn from Japan.

Do you mind if I ask which room you booked? Trying to get an idea of the size of these rooms before I book!
