Why not use them for a month or two before doing the vid

I bought my son a couple of the larger ones, as he is doing a mature industrial electrical apprenticeship (he's 29). He finds them really good for SWA cable glands and one of the older sparks he works with who's probably got 25-30 years experience was amazed at how much time they have saved. He has forked out for some as well. I have the smaller ones and find them really good for some jobs, but they don't take over from a decent combi wrench in a workshop setting.

These look absolutely super for tightening strut straps when running conduit! Industrial electricians where are you at?? Imma have to go buy these.

Strut straps as in cobra clips? Yeah they work great but if I have the room I use a half inch nut driver

I used them for the fittings on over 300’ of gas line the other day! Worth! Every! Penny!

You can get the maxi one that does 22mm compression fittings. I got that set plus big one worth every penny. Good review👍

In the right application they look like they would be great, the tripod test though really needs a socket of a dedicated spanner due to the space limitations

They're a great look to a tool bag but apart from that I've used my set 3 times I'd say in 2 years. More for the tool tart then for practical use.

I’m a level 3 electrician apprentice and have used the M joker for cable tray and anything 9/16 and the L for 3/4” bolts. Haven’t used the smaller ones yet but have been using them for a month since I’ve got the set

They do a 24-32mm one of these, do you think if you had 2 of them they would be any good for small armoured glands like 20s/20?

The only reason I wouldn’t buy them is because they are too small for what I need them for 30mm-32mm bolts is mainly what I work with

I've been using the Wera Tool Check Plus for many years, both for DIY and motorcycle tinkering, great kit apart from some rust on the hex bits.

For that application the wera nut drivers with hollow shaft are better. A spanner is for torque and thay won't deal with torque without rounding the head

    • @drake3004
      @drake3004 Před rokem +2

I’ve been using these for cable tray and had to drill our own holes, they definitely do torque a fair amount, they are better than other self adjusting open ended designs, like husky destroyed the nuts but ther wera joker did a bit better and rarely slipped off or rounded the nuts. If you really need torque tho you should use the proper tool like a socket wrench or torque wrench

I would rather have a good ratchet wrench with sockets and a set of combination wrenches.

It’s a nice concept but are too bulky.
The knipex really thing monkey wrench is much better.
If you can loads of space then it’s definitely these.
But if you got loads of a space a Bacho adjustable is just as good

Agreed. Seeing him use it on that nut looked like too much of a faff. I much prefer the look of a plier wrench.

here is another unoxing type review of them czcams.com/video/VwZzXVtEyjw/video.html
i think the short answer is to try to keep using them and over time see how much action they really end up getting. personally i have a heck of a lot of wera tools already. but some they just dont get picked up and actually used. and just forget they are there. (some more than others). then i will pick it up and there isnt really anything to complain about. its just not in that muscle memory of immediate convenience / or stands out as being the most obvious choice etc.
