    Some years ago I did specialized work on wind turbines, oil rigs and industrial plants; No matter what, a chisel driver, tool check plus and some knipex pliers always went with me.

    The colours are different on the square ones because robertsons are colour coded - yellow for #0 (typically #4 screws), green for #1 (#6 screws), red for #2 (#8 and #10), black for #3 (#12 screws). As an electrician you'd pretty much only see green and red, though some of the larger PVC boxes up here (like, 12" x 12" from Carlon) use black. Not sure about america, since I've noticed you guys sometimes use torx in places where we'd have a robbie fastener - but hooray, at least it's not phillips!

    Just got the special edition Japanese market drivers from Wera. Same etching on the tips. But also has ball grips like Vessel and whatnot. Not insulated. But seriously great.
    My insulated drivers. I’ve got the stainless steel ones because of the humidity in Florida. They’re the only tools I have that have no effects from the humidity.
    And the jokers. I have the SAE ratcheting ones. Easily the best wrenches I’ve ever owned.

    6.5 mm insulated flathead screwdriver and 3.5mm insulated terminal screw driver are my most used tools. I have the wera electrician maintenance driver kit as well, which I use quite frequently

    Multi driver is part of EDC. I didn’t realize the driver portion could be removed but I don’t think it’s impact rated. I could be wrong. Also had never heard of the chisel type screw drivers so thanks for that.

    Used Wera insulated screwdrivers for a short time , really really didn't like them , found the tips not long lasting and the handles were awful , far too large and the widest part in the wrong place , I like Wiha, Stanley fatmax and Bahco vde ergo . The Bahco is my the best screwdriver set I have ever used as a spark , honestly leagues above other brands

      Agreed on the screwdrivers, they’re just uncomfortable in the hand, I think they are made for a specific hand size and if you are anything other than that too bad

      I love the wera screwdrivers but I got some particularly large hands so they fit my hand great not an electrician though I bought a set so I don’t mark up any holes or parts while putting in a screw (I work in car restoration) I have proto, craftsman, snapon, Mac, matco, wiha and various others I guess I’m one of the lucky ones they fit

    Lol, we were walking down the haul road today under a bridge, there's a cable tray been installed on one side running along the footing.
    Noticed a giant pile of broken cable ties, really small screws, cut insulation, no heat shrink. Must be sparkies.
    I wish you sparkies did a review on vaccuum cleaners or brooms, shovels or something more appropriate.

    The Wera etched tips were the biggest lie ever claimed by a tool manufacturer. No noticeable difference between them and any other driver I have. The only good thing is they were short and they fitted in my new too bag I had at the time ( I had mine 8/9 years ago ).
    The difference size handles were awful, my Klein all have the same size grip, once you get used to that it’s hard to go back and try to exert a force with a skinny handle. I have Fatmax, Irazola, Klein, Armeg, Wiha, Wera so have plenty to compare them to.

  • @louisvl10
    @louisvl10 Před 2 měsíci

    somehow Wera's precision kits aren't as solid as their usual size screwdrivers. ive seen lots of reviews with pics of broken off flathead tips.

    If wera tools came with a hard case for their storage instead of a fabric roll where parts fall out all over the jobsite and go missing they would have a winning product especially for the price they charge. how hard is it for them to make a blow moulded quality hard case? Get it sorted

    Not that I like being "that guy" but here goes. Wera is a German company and as such, the W is pronounced like a V. So while the name is spelled Wera, it is pronounced Vera.
